I've been running Windows 7 7600 for awhile, so far it's perfect except for one thing.
After a period of time, my laptop just slows down like hell, it takes 4-6 seconds to open a tab, which frustrates me like hell.Games run a lot slower too, not frame rate wise, but navigating through a menu is a lot slower, switching to my map would take a few seconds. Normally, tabs would open instantly.
All I really have to do is restart my laptop and it'll be fine, I know it's not cooling problems, it usually starts after at least an hour, but just now it started 20 minutes after restarting.
I've scanned for viruses, I found 2 which were adware, but nothing changed after removing them, I've defragmented, and Ccleaner'd, no difference after. (350 gigs of space left too)
Specs:
Asus G50v
T9400 2.53Ghz
9800M GS
4 Gigs Ram
x64 Windows 7 (7600)
Could it be the os? Because I know it's not the final version, and I didn't have any problems like this with Vista.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Virus.
Try AVG, Avira AntiVir and Avast.
---or---
Else check your components for busted parts (like a memory leak!)
---or---
Rebuild your PC.
---and---
If that doesn't work, send it into reputable repairs.
Windows 7 has been fine for me so far...
Your using build 6400? No wonder.
Download 7100 (legal RC)

Read my post, I'm using a laptop and I already scanned for viruses, but I'll scan again to be sure.

Sorry meant 7600, not sure where I got 6400 from.
What browser are you using? Mine does this on build 7100 if I use Internet explorer. (only 1-2 secounds though). Other browsers seem to work fine, from firefox to chrome to opera to whatever.
I just had performance issues with services such as superfetch and Windows search enabled. Same for windows defender and autodefrag.
Try to disabling them (services.msc). It stops harddisk actions and performance issues.
My notebook runs fine - faster than on XP or vista (It'S from end of 2006).
Using chrome, but it happens with other browsers too (firefox, safari, didn't bother trying IE) and I'll try that aVon thanks.
That happened to me once, except it was on my desktop with XP, and it was because my comp hadn't been restarted in weeks...
I have this on my G50v, with the RC
