We all have a staple selection of software/apps we use on our computer, share and post yours! CCleaner Free, lightweight program that is awesome at fixing registry errors, removing unwanted crap from my hard drive and wiping logs. http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER Notepad++ High in features, easy to use. Lets you code with syntax highlighting, and loads more. Great for programming basic things with. http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ RocketDock Slick and fast application launcher that integrates well with Windows. Sort of like the dock on the mac, which is alright if you're a secret mac fanboy :tinfoil: http://rocketdock.com/ Orbit Downloader Surprisingly useful download manager that I personally use over the ones built into the browser. Pretty similar to a torrent program except it manages your downloads from your web browser. Also it seems to give me much faster download speeds? Rainmeter, Speccy, Dropbox Also there have been many threads like this.
DebugMode Wink. Learned about this in work, it's basically a screen recorder with annotations and stuff to have a sort of flash-based walkthrough for certain things, like feature demonstrations, how to make a dubstep sound in FL studio, ETC. Like I said, flash-based, so it exports SWFs or flash wrapped .exes. http://www.debugmode.com/wink/

DVDFlick: For those rare times where you need to make a DVD Unknown Devices: When you're reinstalling Windows on a weird computer, you can use this to find out the device names if the device doesn't have a driver installed. IrfanView: It replaces the Windows photo viewer, though you can really quickly do re-sizing, cropping, compression, rotation and other simple edits without waiting for Gimp/Paint.net/Photoshop to open. You can also do batch editing.

I just leave this here http://www.facepunch.com/threads/637109-Free-Software.?highlight=Free+software
BIMP Lite. Run an image through it with the "Antialias" box checked and it'll make an identical copy that (usually) has a smaller file size. I've seen up to about a 25-fold decrease in file size, and the images are still identical, pixel-for-pixel.

WinDirStat: http://windirstat.info/ One of the most useful tools to see what exactly is taking up hard drive space.
Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/about/ Decent online store.
fucking pu.ush http://puush.me/
I use JDownloader for downloads and download management. Works great with sites like Megaupload, Mediafire, etc.
Comodo antivirus. Also, I'm sure many of you occasionally have to mount .iso files. Do you use Daemon Tools Lite? Alcohol 120%? Fuck both of them. WinCDEmu destroys both of them. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] Also, Zscreen is the greatest thing I have discovered this month.
Microsoft security essentials is pretty good. ( as long as it's used along with Common Sense 2011)

Notepad2 http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html Good replacement for notepad, I prefer it over Notepad++ as it feels lighter. Has syntax highlighting. WinSCP http://winscp.net/ Pretty awesome FTP client. HoneyView http://www.honeyview.org/ Image viewer designed for manga and stuff but is fast and powerful.
norton trial and sparkbrowser
Soluto http://www.soluto.com/ I personally don't use it much, but even my mother knows how to use it and it works wonders on computers loaded up with bloatware from the factory.
Gyazo edit: what's wrong with gyazo fuck you guys
They have a strange sort of bandwith issues, you can't embed a gyazo picture without it freaking out. I found puush to be a better alternative, and before that, used ZScreen. TWhirl is a really good Twitter client if you don't have a twitter extension on your browser Steam is pretty nice for games and chatting :v:
Ok to be fair the bandwidth issue is only recent, gyazo has turned a little crap lately, and to fix the embedding issue just put ".png" at the end of the URL.
With enough views on this page, the following image will be reduced to a unhappy square face.
I know it happens regularly to me, now I just use gyazo to crop my screen then re-upload to imgur. But it has only started happening recently, maybe gyazo got too popular or they're pushing the premium paid version.
