In what's surely an error, many are capitalizing on the mistake and purchasing the title which released just two months ago. Under the description, the model is listed as "FREE METRO LAST LIGHT," which is meant to be included for those who purchased an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 or EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 graphics card. It's also included with the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 graphics card.

UPDATE: We have received confirmation from readers that they are indeed being emailed their codes.
Reports of Best Buy refunding the purchases are coming in. http://www.examiner.com/article/metro-last-light-current-01-on-best-buy-s-website
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
I just got Metro 2033 for free the other day.
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
They can't just take money from your PayPal account as far as I know.
fucking steal but I already have it I'll buy 100
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
do they have to honor their price anyways?
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
wouldn't that be illegal? lol
Got it, thanks!
And then Best Buy backdates all the purchases to the original value and people get very upset.
That would be illegal, and the credit card companies would eat them alive when the damn broke as the chargebacks came rolling in.
Done
Fuck, I can't buy off Best Buy :/ [sp]Hint hint[/sp]
I'm all for exploiting deals, and I really don't mean to be a buzz kill. But come on, this is a poor Ukrainian dev that actually deserves the money for the game.
Remember guys, it only works in America :(
10 cents well spent I guess? Been 30 minutes.
The creators of the game won't suffer from this. Think about it. This is a goof by BestBuy or Nvidia. They're going to have to pay some sort of compensation to the developers, otherwise there will be a lawsuit. It's the person who messed up who is going to make their company pay, and they will probably lose their job. EDIT: Apparently the keys were pre-purchased by Nvidia. BestBuy is in trouble!
Bought - These are going to go super fast. I feel lucky seeing this thread.
Won't accept non-US paypal accounts and apparently my credit card can't be authorised for payment. Blahhh!
And yeah, I got my first of thirty steam codes. Confirmed. I'll throw a few steam codes up here after more roll in.
If anyone has a copy to spare I would be glad to get one. My bank account has issues so Summer Sale is ruined for me :(
Steam sales, it's over, Gabe got nothing on best buy! 99% Off baby!
Would anyone be willing to get me a copy since it's only 1 cent? I don't know if this is against the rules though since it obviously doesn't happen often. I would get it my self by sadly bestbuy.com doesn't like Canada (it needs to be bestbuy.ca).
Works guys, glad I caught this. :p
Seems like one of Kotaku's reporters is a FP reader. Two minutes after this was posted, a Kotaku article went up.

(not this discounted but still). they've already gotten their money from this promo.

could anyone pm me a key? i would really appreciate it and perhaps offer you my firstborn child
nvidia has already bought these keys from deep silver at discount.
How long was it between buying it and getting it?
The first code came within the first 10 minutes, but the other 29 are taking their time.
I'm all for exploiting deals, and I really don't mean to be a buzz kill. But come on, this is a poor Ukrainian dev that actually deserves the money for the game.
It's under my impression that if Best Buy breaks it, Best Buy pays it. Meaning either they'll cancel all sales and ask Steam to nullify all the keys obtained (like it happened with the Dirt 3 keys that leaked, they just removed them from the Steam accounts) and they pay back the few cents people spent. Or the more expensive solution, for each $0.01 copy that Best Buy sells they'll have to pay the devs a full price copy (which they probably already did), so they are going to have to deal with nVidia.
If anyone was willing to give up one of those keys I would be happy to buy them something on steam. Unfortunetly I cannot buy
