How can i copy Adobe photoshop from my hard drive to an external hard drive?

I want to move photoshop to an external hard drive so it doesn't get wiped when i reformat, but i want to know how i would do that without having to enter a cd key when i move it back. I'm doing this for my brother because the past two users installed so much shit onto the computer and we're now reformatting. Would i just use regedit to export the adobe registry keys from the folder itself, or do i have to do something else?
any help is appreciated
You can physically copy the files over, except if the version isn't portable it won't work due to the registry.
Find the installation files would be a better bet.
I know that there are ways to make a portable one.
You kinda have to get rid and edit some stuff.
I only know how to do it for CS2 though.
