• Wanting to flash my bios... will it being an OEM motherboard prevent me from doing so?

So I have an advent ptg 9003 (didn't have time to build custom after my old pc died 1 day before college assignment was due in, so I had to get a prebuilt). Which I've upgraded a lot. I want to update the BIOS to enable AM3 processor support (So I can get away from this shitty AMD Phenom X3 2.3GHz triple core). Since it's a OEM motherboard, is there any protection to preven the mobo being flashed? Also this seems to be a mix between technical problems, and pc building, so I figured the main H&S forums was best to post. If it belongs elsewhere then can a mod please move the thread?
Google around. Often manufacturers have windows-based flashing tools (which are REALLY dumb and REALLY dangerous, but often the only choice.)
Or you can always boot off of a flash drive with DOS installed, and use an appropriate flasher that is designed for that specific BIOS type.
Ok the bios on the official foxconn websites all error out saying "incorrect rom ID" I'm guessing because mine uses some sort of OEM made BIOS. And the OEM (Advent) don't have a proper website, just a list of pc's on sale...
My motherboard has a tool on it called EZFlash. Pretty useful stuff.
