Social network winning most of the awards - best director, screenplay and best movie. Colin firth winning best actor for king's speech while natalie portman winning best actress for black swan. Although imo james franco should have won it for 127 hours.
Complete list because the OP is struggling: Supporting Actor, Motion Picture, Drama Christian Bale, The Fighter Best Actress, TV Series, Drama Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy Best Miniseries or Television Movie Carlos Best Supporting Actor TV Series, Mini Series or TV Movie Chris Colfer, Glee Best Actor TV Series, Drama Steve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire Best TV Series, Drama Boardwalk Empire Original Song, Motion Picture You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me, Burlesque Best Original Score The Social Network, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Best Animated Feature Toy Story 3 Best Actress in Motion Picture Comedy or Musical Annette Bening, The Kids Are All Right Best Actor, Mini-Series or TV Movie Al Pacino, You Don’t Know Jack Best Actress, Mini-Series or TV Movie Claire Danes, Temple Grandin Best Screenplay, Motion Picture Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network Best Supporting Actress, Mini-Series, Series or TV Movie Jane Lynch, Glee Best Foreign Language Film In a Better World, Denmark Best Actress, TV Series Comedy or Musical Laura Linney, The Big C Best Actor, TV Series Comedy or Musical Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory Supporting Actress, Motion Picture Melissa Leo, The Fighter Best Director, Motion Picture David Fincher, The Social Network TV Series, Comedy or Musical Glee Best Actor, Motion Picture Comedy or Musical Paul Giamatti, Barney’s Version Best Actress, Motion Picture Drama Natalie Portman, Black Swan Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical The Kids Are All Right Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama Colin Firth, The King’s Speech Motion Picture, Drama The Social Network [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] i think overall they were good. i liked the social network, and expected it to win some awards, but didnt think it would win all the big awards it did.
Was the Social Network really that good to sweep all those awards? At least Inception should have won Best Original Score.
i really wish toy story 3 could be nominated for a best picture award though. while i dont think it deserves to win, it needs more credit and awards. rarely do you see a movie, especially an animated kids movie, as incredible as that. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] it especially would just go to show what hard work and time can do for a film, rather than creating a script out of nothing just to try to make some money. the money comes after. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] i also dont think that the social network should have won best screenplay. honestly inception had an amazing script, though it wasnt as profound or oscar-like as the social network. [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] AND IT's GOLDEN GLOBES 2011 OP JESUS CHRIST
i thought the social network was great, but best original score? definitely not.
And why was the girl in True Grit not nominated, wasn't True Grit released in 2010? Also, Inception should have won best soundtrack.
i just noticed true grit wasnt even nominated. yea that pisses me off. it honestly wasnt a GREAT movie, but it was very good. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] all of the performances for best actor in a feature film were very good, so i dont really care who wins that. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] i speak in future tense bc i really only care about the oscars not the golden globes. i just watch them to get a decent prediction of the oscars.
Why the hell was The Tourist classified as a musical/comedy?
The golden globe awards are relevant to nobody. It's just movie industry asspats.
i think true grit didnt qualify for this year's nominations, maybe they'll nominate it for next year's golden globes. and oh yea social network is massively overrated. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
The golden globe awards are relevant to nobody. It's just movie industry asspats.
most of the time golden globes predict the oscar winners.
i think true grit didnt qualify for this year's nominations, maybe they'll nominate it for next year's golden globes. and oh yea social network is massively overrated.
no idiot if it happened in 2010 it gets put in the 2011 awards only. they dont give awards to films that didnt happen in the same year as the other films.
I'm looking forward to watching this tomorrow and being angry at everything!
Why the hell was The Tourist classified as a musical/comedy?
bc its partially a comedy and they needed more movies in that category. its stupid i agree. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] the whole category is stupid
God damn Toy Story 3. Making it impossible for any other animated movie to win ANYTHING.
God damn Toy Story 3. Making it impossible for any other animated movie to win ANYTHING.
Don't you mean any Pixar film?
Don't you mean any Pixar film?
Ya, but Dreamworks did good this time with HTTYD. And then it has such fantastic luck to go against not only a Pixar film, but one of the biggest Pixar series of all time. There should be a "Pixar film of the year" and an "Animated movie of the year".
Why was Alice in Wonderland nominated for everything? That movie was shittier than a Tijuana truckstop.
i dont know but i really cant take the social network seriously. maybe cause it has jesse eisenberg in the lead role or maybe its just a movie about facebook.
why must there be so many awards shows
I don't care much about awards. I just care about watching things that are entertaining or moving. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] But yay awards! Don't ban me for holding a valid opinion against the thread content
I don't really care about the Golden Globes. I'm just waiting for the Oscars but I'm pretty angry that the Social Network won so many awards. It was a good movie, but it didn't deserve to take the place of movies like Inception and Black Swan. For the best OST at least.
Golden Globes is a joke. Just look a how many nominations "The Tourist" got. Heck, did anyone even care for that movie once it was released? No. It was just because they wanted to get some publicity by inviting some "big names". At least the Oscars are more decent.
No one really cares that much about the Golden Globes do they? I'd only agree with a few of those winners.

Meh, Social Network is overrated. But I guess it won't get any oscars.
I really didn't like The Social Network. It was ridiculously serious at times. "IT'S ALL HERE IN THIS BOOK!! WE ARE GOING TO BRING MICHEAL CERA DOWN!" [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] Inception didn't win anything? Not even original score? The Social Network won the prize for best score, what the hell?
Was the Social Network really that good to sweep all those awards? At least Inception should have won Best Original Score.
Social Network deserved every award it got. Inception is good but it is ridiculously overrated and doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top of the imdb 250.
And why was the girl in True Grit not nominated, wasn't True Grit released in 2010?
They nominated some movies before True Grit was out.
Inception is good but it is ridiculously overrated and doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top of the imdb 250.

Inception

ridiculously overrated

doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top of the imdb 250

Social Network deserved every award it got. Inception is good but it is ridiculously overrated and doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the top of the imdb 250.
Indeed. Enjoyed it over Inception.
God damn Toy Story 3. Making it impossible for any other animated movie to win ANYTHING.
Justin Bieber and Hailee Steinfeld were presenting for that category. When the Director went up to accept the award, he said,"Wow, were you two even born when the first Toy Story came out?". I laughed.
