When you think about it, the guy only changed one Syllable of the "WoW" name.
Publicity stunt or just ignorance. Either way, good on him.
I'd prefer Nerds talking about Starcraft than about Warcraft...
It is obvious that Blizzard wants to make their own StarCraft MMO
Naming it "World of Starcraft" is pretty much asking for it, really.

Blizzard's Project Titan "Next Gen MMO" = World of Starcraft ?

This too.
Blizzard are amazing. And everybody links bobby kotick with blizzard. When what most people don't realize. Blizzard isn't a company owned by activision. But they work together.
Well that was disappointing.
I was looking forward to this.

Also the idea that a Starcraft MMO would be coming up isn't new.
This will probably fuel the belief.
Not surprised.

Their new MMO is a new IP
Activision is such an awful company. No respect for their players.
i think the "FROM ACTIVISION GAMES INC" part says that this is coming from ACTIVISION GAMES INC and not Blizzard

The two may as well be one in the same now. It's not like the Blizzard devs would personally be involved in finding and shutting down unapproved 3rd party mods of their games. That's something that happens on the legal/executive level, which is the driving force behind Activision and Blizzard these days.
For goodness, sake doesn't these people know using copyrighted name without permission is bound to get you into a lawsuit.

No they're merged, with Kotick being the CEO
Good job suits, that would have made me buy Starcraft 2 already.
Give people Modkit
Don't let them use it
:frog:
Oh fuck off Blizzard/Activision.
Just 'cause one person with the modding tools you gave them beat you to it...

So if a modder released a big-time Half-Life mod titled Half-Life 2: Episode 3, it would be okay?
And before you say Episode 3 was already announced, when was the last time you heard ANY news about it?

Yes.
There is one or two mod teams working on Half Life remakes on Source. There are a couple of big name recreations and sequels to Opposing Force being created. I can't find the link, but i'm pretty sure there is a mode being created that is a community version of what they think Episode 3 will entail.
So yes, Valve has absolutely no problem with this.

Black Mesa (previously known as Black Mesa Source), Operation Black Mesa (previously known as Opposing Source), whatever that blue shift remake was called, Opposing Force 2. There's a few I'm forgetting but the point was Omali is right. All Valve has done was asked that mod teams with "Source" in their mod titles remove it as to not cause confusion within the community, so it seems like they're cool with it.
Remember so far only the videos are down:
So far, this means his work-in-progress videos have been pulled, and that’s all. The project hasn’t been forcibly shut down and its forum is still active, but it’s unclear for now if development will continue.
It was a bad idea calling it "World of Starcraft" because trouble should have been expected, but I would still like to see it come out and continue being developed.
I wonder how they got around the lag though, or if it works as poorly as other 3rd person mods due to there being no prediction of keyboard commands.

Stop blaming blizzard and start blaming activision-blizzard. Not the same shit.
Blizzard are real cunts now. they already have enough money for a 3rd world country
