Kickstarter has really become popular among developers, I haven't even heard of most of the games on there, but somehow thousands of people know something I don't.
I don't really like the sudden wave of big games that are populating kickstarter. I keep seeing 500k, 400k, 250k. I don't feel it's what kickstarter was made for, rather for small projects and small teams, not companies.
There was a time where developers made games, and then we gave them money.
Now, we give developers money, and then they make the games.
What happened?

Developers ran out of money.

as long as they're great games who cares. publishers are controlling cunts, letting as many people as possible bypass them is fucking great.

And it's not like these big projects are hurting the little projects either, just the opposite. They're bringing in a fuck ton of new users, who are then in turn funding lots of other projects. It's great stuff.
I love helping out the Indie developers, even though my small donation doesnt amount to a lot
