Feel free to contribute with things that apply to most AA -A real car enthusiast will not give a crap about a car top speed, for he knows he will have fun at any speed with his ride -A real car enthusiast will not like washing his car, for he will always think his ride need a new paint job -A real car enthusiast will like the action of washing his car, but his attention to detail will prevent him from doing the task with a complete heart -A real car enthusiast will, at least once in his AA life, be a fanboy of a brand or sort of car BUT he shall not hate others cars and effort. -A real car enthusiast will take a incredible joy in driving his car -A real car enthusiast will take a incredible joy in driving his car after fixing or modifying something. FOR HE KNOWS, THAT HE IS CREATING "HIS" CAR. -A real car enthusiast will hate people who aren't much into car and are going derp mode about them (I'm thinking about the guy in general discussion that told us some kids put his hands on the bonnet of a gt40 and said: this baby has nitrous. that's a good exemple). -A real car enthusiast will find courage and determination to fix/complete/troubleshoot his car even in the worst fucking possible situations (trust me... I know) -A real car enthusiast will OBLIGATORY be part of a car club, forums or participate to local meets/ride. -A real car enthusiast will encourage and help newcomers in the domain of AA and cars. -A real car enthusiast will NOT think of his car as a F1 (ricers revving at street light, I'm talking 'bout you) -A real car enthusiast will always be polite to cops, except if said cops are total a-hole or are harrassing you. -A real car enthusiast will try to be unique (please). -A real car enthusiast will respect other drivers, cars and will share a good image of a car enthusiast...
-A real car enthusiast will not have one single favorite car, as all cars have compromises (this might not be a proper sentence, not sure, but it should still make sense to most people)
-A real car enthusiast understands that spoilers, stickers and VTEC does not mean your car goes fast
A real car enthusiast doesn't need to confirm just how much of a car enthusiast he/she really is :)
A real car enthusiast loves all cars, classic or new, American, Japanese, or European, Muscle, Sports, Tuned or Classic.
A real car enthusiast will like all brands of cars equally and not hold bias

-A real car enthusiast will rev it up like bam bam bam and then select D for maximum respect
-A real car enthusiast will rev it up like bam bam bam and then select D for maximum respect
i real one will not neutral bomb a car, cause a real enthusiast will have a manual. a real enthusiast will respect a car for what it was designed for. Prius = gas mileage lambo = loud crazy car f-150 = decent light duty hauler
i real one will not neutral bomb a car, cause a real enthusiast will have a manual. a real enthusiast will respect a car for what it was designed for. What gives?
A real car enthusiast would buy the car he wants, and do to it whatever he wants, because it's his car and his opinions. A real car enthusiast is polite and nice to other car enthusiasts. A real car enthusiast knows that the guy driving his 75 hp corolla with a huge wing and flames down the side, loves his car as much as you love your own car. A real car enthusiast knows that we have a whole lot in common with other car enthusiasts, even though they might like the cars that you don't like yourself. A real car enthusiast doesn't have to love all cars, but shouldn't be afraid to broaden his horizon.
-A real car enthusiast understands that spoilers, stickers and VTEC does not mean your car goes fast
A real car enthusiast wouldn't be so butthurt over what doesn't fall in his taste. /rant I mean, this car is the definition of everything you can do to make a car look worse, in my eyes. But the craftmanship, time, money, effort and passion put into this thing is fucking amazing. Imagine the passion the owner must have for his car, even though it's hideous in probably everyone in here, including myselfs eyes. Guys that does this is just as much car enthusiasts as the guys who build their track toys, and in general, I think the hate between car cultures is so fucking lame. A real car enthusiast is not defined by the value of the car.
A real car enthusiast won't give a damn about another enthusiast's opinion of his tastes. [SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB]I may or may not be talking about my Crossfire fetish[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
Except the Prius doesn't even get as good of mileage as a 35 year old Honda. What gives?
U quoted the v it can haul the Honda in it. The one I drove got 60 mpg on and 30 mile drive. 3rd gen prius. Not the van Prius. EPA and safety requirement. Require weight so older car can't compare to newer. Hell all new cars require traction control stability control and tire pressure sensors. But the hf's used every trick in the book. So explain why Honda can't do that now?
Because Honda became another faceless corporation. Having safety equipment should be no excuse for bad MPG. A little extra weight never hurt anyone. When the CRX HF heavied up in 1988 and continued getting fatter up until 1991, mileage only dropped about 3-4MPG overall while gaining 12hp and 10ft-lbs of torque. When replaced by the heavier VX hatchback in 1992, the VX got better mileage while being heavier and having 90hp/98ft-lbs under its belt. And it had driver and passenger airbags.
A real car enthusiast buys a car because of feel, not because of features (gps, sunroof, ABS).

And even manuals people got lazy geared them lower so they didn't have to down shift as much. Then add the e10 gas that cut milage by 5-10% The car makers are slowly gaining mpgs again. Even my 3i HB I bought does good. Last two tanks have been 41 And 43 mpg.
I'm glad they are gaining MPGs again. I'm happy to see people start caring again. 100 laughed at by most? I'm definitely sure you are from somewhere that uses KM.

sub-100hp cars are still made?
sub-100hp cars are still made?
chevy spark has 84 @ 6400 but they are several under 120
A real car enthusiast will know each of the common faults with his/her car.
sub-100hp cars are still made?
My car from 2008 only has 67hp. Not everyone wants a big powerful car.
sub-100hp cars are still made?
The IQ has 97hp I believe. But its tiny.
well i don't really consider the tiny city-cars proper cars
I'd like a tiny engine'd car for my DD and GG. that's the point of having a weekend warrior with ton of power and fuelthrist
well i don't really consider the tiny city-cars proper cars
It gets you from point A to point B so its technically still a car whether you consider it or not :P
A real car enthusiast only takes his car to a shop for repairs he lacks the tools to complete. A real car enthusiast will only buy an automatic if he lacks the physical capacity to operate a manual. This includes flappy paddle gearboxes. A real car enthusiast will not buy anything FWD and expect performance from it, for they know that FWD is only good for fuel economy and cheapness. A real car enthusiast will not attempt to make a civic fast. They will save this for something RWD or AWD. A real car enthusiast knows when to drive safely, and how to do so. A real car enthusiast will never use FRAM oil filters. A real car enthusiast knows those gimmicky plugs with four electrodes and zomgrareearthmetals in them aren't worth their weight in shit. A real car enthusiast knows that chrome engine parts never increase performance and are only placed on show cars.
