My Chemical Romance (abbreviated as MCR) is an American rock band from New Jersey, formed in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way, and guitarists Frank Iero and Ray Toro. Shortly after forming, the band signed to Eyeball Records and released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002. They signed with Reprise Records the next year and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004; the album was a commercial success, selling over one million copies. The band eclipsed their previous success with 2006's The Black Parade, featuring their hit singles, "Welcome to the Black Parade", "Famous Last Words", "I Don't Love You", and "Teenagers". The band also filmed a live DVD in Mexico City, titled The Black Parade Is Dead!, which was released in July 2008. The band is set to release a fourth album in 2010. They're a great bad IMO. Kinda sad about their drummer leaving recently, with the new album coming out soon. My personal favorite of their songs are from their first album. I think it shows how they were going to be after awhile. Some of my personal favorites. They are a pretty poor teenage angsty band imo "Oh look at me my life is so hard" also the ad at the bottom of the page
They are a pretty poor teenage angsty band imo "Oh look at me my life is so hard"
I dont think so. If you know them that well they come from a pretty bad place in New Jersey. Full of crime and just a horrible place in general. I would understand how they feel that way. Anyways nobody there would expect them to actually rise up and gain over 1.5 million fans. Life is good and bad for them at the same time, with their addictions and such. Try listening to some of their music and then think again.
Sorry, facepunch doesn't like them. Bad thread.
Sorry, Facepunch doesn't like trolls; bad post.
Should probably have an auto-delete feature for "My Chemical Romance" titles. Honestly, nobody is going to take the thread seriously; even if it isn't a troll thread.
i like helena
i like helena
Would you like to expand on that?
Helena is the only song I like. But I really like it. I also love the opening/slow section of Welcome to the Black Parade, but then it speeds up and it's shit Until 1:48 it's a good song
I like I'm Not Okay lol. It was in Burnout 3: Takedown and fit the game perfectly lol.

Though I'm fine with the rest of the song, I particularly like the beginning too. On the same album as this one, they have a song called "The End." which particularly picks up my attention from how epic it is. at some point in my life i liked mcr
I remember when everyone thought "dead" was good because it was in guitar hero 2 [editline]06:01PM[/editline]
I dont think so. I used to like them, but they're overrated pop-punk with darker, angst-ridden themes.
I really like MCR, particularly their 2nd album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. They really aren't as emo as everyone says, unless you're going by how they look. I don't really care if I get a lot of shit for enjoying them.
This was the only music I was subjected to aside from classical music as a kid, and I loved it. They were my favourite band until I found the Beatles. Also does anyone else reckon Mama is ruined by the pop chorus?

I live in glasgow, I have a slight feeling it's worse than in new jersey. I've listened to their music, it sucked dick. James Hetfeild was an alcoholic, and he still made better music than MCR.
but they're overrated pop-punk with darker, angst-ridden themes.
I do not agree
Doesn't matter if you do or not, that's what they are.
I like Teenagers and House of Wolves, but that's it. The rest sucks balls.
don't forget, Famous Last Word.. :O :D
I will admit that MCR is a favourite band of mine... but something about them makes me think they will forever have the stigma in my mind of 'dirty pleasure.'
I can understand why you can like particular songs over others, because I definitely do too. I like listening to all of their songs because they tell stories when you listen to the lyrics and the song altogether. For example, Sleep is about when they all kept having these bad nightmares. Cancer about the vocalists Grandmother Dying of Cancer (That Along with Helena, but thats a little mad version). I just love their story and how they put it into music.
A small find. Someone putting an a cool way to make a lyrics vid. Also, at 2:31. Facepunch logo?
I enjoyed most of three cheers. Their other two albums blow though.
I enjoy the rhythm of some of their songs, I just lose interest once I pay attention to the lyrics...

I borrowed Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge from the library once, Listened to it a few times in the week I had it, Favourite tracks ended up being I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Helena Give 'Em Hell Kid Cemetery Drive  I also liked Teenagers (Heard it on Rage and other music shows) but I sorta got sick of their music a year or two ago. Though still sometimes play My favourites just to go back to the memories.
I hate Teenagers. That song annoys the hell out of me.
