Newt Gingrich is being sued for using "Eye of the Tiger" illegally in his campaigning

[release]Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich faces a lawsuit over his use of Eye of the Tiger, the theme song to the movie Rocky III, court documents show.
The claim for copyright infringement, lodged on Monday by Rude Music Inc in an Illinois federal court, relates to Gingrich's use of the song at his political rallies.
Rude Music Inc is owned by Frank Sullivan, who co-wrote the Grammy award-winning song. In addition to Gingrich, the complaint names as defendants his campaign, Newt 2012 Inc, and the American Conservative Union, an advocacy organisation.
The complaint states that the violation it alleges is intentional since Gingrich is "sophisticated and knowledgeable" concerning copyright laws.
Rude Music Inc has requested the court to order an end to unauthorised use of the song by the defendants, and to award Rude Music Inc damages.
A Gingrich campaign spokesman could not be reached for comment.[/release]

How rude.
How to discredit yourself 101.
And how does one get rights to play music?

And they lose the case right about here.
Deserved.
Idiot.
Always ask for permission.
Well to be fair to Newt, I doubt anyone would want their music associated with him if he asked them to use it.

Im not really sure how, considering how he is conducting himself now that hes losing. I believe just today he came out and condemned Romney as being insensitive to religion and Obama as conducting a war against.
Do people who support him ignore this stuff or actually believe it?

Hey, did you know that most Republicans are actually against that internet copyright law stuff?

Newt and the rest of the intellectuals at one of the previous GOPfest debates actually came out and spoke against SOPA and PIPA and the like. Analseepage said something to the effect of "I want to end piracy, but not like that". Paramesotriton just spoke against it I think. MormonMan vaguely spoke against it... AAAAAND FoundingFather hated the entire concept of the bill.
Am I the only one who thinks this is starting to turn intome sort of auto-satirical thing? I mean honestly. Newt "I want to end piracy" Gingrich using music without having a license to do so, and campaigning in the wrong direction sounds like something out of a silly webcomic or animated series.
