I have no sources other than a community manager on their forums
If you add the game to your library this weekend you get to keep it permanently.
I'm not 100% sure how legit this is, but its their forums.
Didn't they do this already?

pixel vision :v:

oh boy, that doesn't sound fancy.
(that's one fancy install button though so what do I know)
I actually just got this a few hours ago after a friend pointed it out. I really don't understand what's happening in the matches other than explosions but I always have the most kills and least deaths so I guess I'm doing something.
I played this ages ago. Basically really slow dogfighting. It gets spectacularly fun at times with certain ships (had one with a giant sweeping beam on the front that would just tear through like 80% of everythings health, so I would just ram everyone and fire it).
can confirm it works
IIRC they plan on making the game free to play once they release 1.0, but until then they plan on having a pay-in beta. Hence why they've literally given the game away twice now.
So funny story, I bought one of the founders pack a while ago when it was on sale (I think the 40 bucks one for 20) but after playing a bit I refunded it.
So, back to today, capitalizing on the free weekend to see what has changed and to my surprise I still have my founder status and everything.
I'm guess that issue got overlooked since the refund system was brand new at the time.

It's going free-to-play once they leave early access.

You snake you ;)
Is this game any good?
Is this game any good?
Yeah it is quite fun.
Playing it with a friend now and teamwork is everything. The progression system so far is also fairly well done.
Is this game any good?
if you like games like world of tanks except want it more spacey and with more dota youll probably like this. you wont find fast twitch dogfighting action though. i got bored of it within a few hours of trying it.
I tried it out but couldn't find a server for matchmaking. Most people it could get to connect to one game was 2.

Yeah lobbies are only 2 people for some reason. I imagine they'll make 5 player lobbies at some point.

Only 2 player lobbies? So how does it build a game of 5v5? Does it require 5 2 player lobbies to be made, then joins them all together? Seems like a really convoluted system.

If you wish to play with friends, you cannot play with four other friends, you play with 1.
It builds a team in a game by looking for other players online to add up to 5.
It combines two teams of 5 to make a game.
I wasn't talking about only 2 people in a private lobby or whatever with me.
It literally could only find 2 people to play with on a team. Waited and waited and waited, could not find anymore people. Which is another gripe, there doesn't seem to be a way to cancel once it's connecting/waiting for more players, so I had to kill the task manually.
This game would be way more fun if the increased the team size from 5v5 to something like 10v10. I got it at the last free weekend, I love how optimized its become
So after further investigation the servers are apparently shitting themself or something. The game is less moba and more strategy imo.
It's a pretty enjoyable game. The only thing that irks me is how arbitrary some of the movement is.
You CAN move in all directions but your ship will always stay horizontal.
I finally got into a game, it was a lot of fun. Definitely focuses more on tactics than anything else, a lot of trying to get around behind the enemy team and take things when they are preoccupied.
This looks like a game I might enjoy, but gives me 'micro-transactions in 12months to win' vibes.
