Spoiler tags are useful. They mean that you can be nice to people by not spoiling films. But there is no point in spoiler tagging something if the reader doesn't know what game or film or whatever it is referring to. For example, in that non human character thread, someone [prototype spoiler] [sp]spoiler tagged Alex Mercer, because you only find out at the end that Alex isn't human[/sp]. But how were you supposed to know that was a prototype spoiler? If it was in the prototype thread then that's ok, you would expect it to be a prototype spoiler, but it wasn't.
I know this is a fairly bad example, but it happens fairly often. There is no point in spoiler tagging if you don't tell people what it spoils, or people will click on them anyway and all their endings will be ruined.
