[release]WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's Australia-based mother, who is distressed after an alert for her son was issued by Interpol, said: "Obviously I don't want him hunted down and jailed."
Interpol issued the order Tuesday for the arrest of Julian Assange in connection with a Swedish investigation of sexual assault allegations. The action comes soon after the publication of 250,000 classified documents earlier this week.
Julian's mother Christine Assange told ABC Radio that she was concerned for her son's welfare.
"He's my son and I love him, and obviously I don't want him hunted down and jailed."
"I'm reacting as any mother would - I'm distressed," AAP quoted her as saying.
US Ambassador Jeff Bleich said the US and Australian governments had not held discussions about any plans to apprehend Julian.
Bleich told reporters in Canberra Wednesday: "That's for the law enforcement authorities."
WikiLeaks, the whistleblower website at the centre of a storm over leaking 250,000 US diplomatic despatches, is a not-for-profit media organisation launched in 2007.
Founded by Julian Assange, WikiLeaks with the slogan "We open governments" posted in April 2010 a video from a 2007 incident in which Iraqi civilians were killed by US forces, on a website called Collateral Murder.
In July, WikiLeaks released Afghan War Diary, a compilation of more than 76,900 documents about the war in Afghanistan not previously available for public review.
In October, the group released a package of almost 400,000 documents called the Iraq War Logs. [/release]
She's right to be worried.
Weren't those sexual assault claims just bullshit?
Weren't those sexual assault claims just bullshit?
if you have half a brain you can see through the bullshit so yes
It's too Jason Bourne-y all this
Him getting arrested would only help his cause. I wonder what the hell the government is thinking sometime.
I bet wikileaks will have the full details of his arrest, once they capture him.
He gets arrested or shot or maimed or anything then the password for insurance.aes256 will be circulating round the world faster than blood in a sugar-frenzied fucking teenager

QFT.

I agree too. All they're doing so far is making a martyr out of him... and it's working really well for Assange and his cause
It's too Jason Bourne-y all this
Come to think of it, it does seem a bit like The Bourne films, except Assange wasn't a former CIA member, and he doesn't suffer from "psychogenic amnesia".
Say, in a couple of years do you think anyone'll be making films about Assange's work? That is, if he hasn't been "disappeared".

Yeah, it does. They should make a movie out of it.
Assange has balls.
That is all.
She should be because this dude is going to get fucked up for what he did.
LOL, they sure like their smear campaigns
Weren't those sexual assault claims just bullshit?
Indeed they were, or at least they were retracted [by the "sexually asaulted"], though the Swedish government put them back for no reason.

The condom broke.
That's the rape part. Huh.
Well she shouldn't of raised such a cunt of a son
Haha, her son published hundreds of pages of confidential files, which may make international affairs of the world flip the fuck out, resulting in a massive conflict.
But she starts to worry once interpol says they might or might not catch him.

Personally, I believe there's nothing there and the file will never be published. It's just a psychological weapon, a hidden ace to scare the authorities even more.

No, he didn't. He owns a site where people do that.
Indeed they were, or at least they were retracted [by the "sexually asaulted"], though the Swedish government put them back for no reason.
So they were actually bullshit or is everyone saying it because a lot of FPers seem to get a hard on for this guy.
They're bullshit, they raised the rape accusations when they found out that he was doin' both of them.
If half the world's governments wanted to kill my son, I'd be worried too.
So they were actually bullshit or is everyone saying it because a lot of FPers seem to get a hard on for this guy.
The charges were dropped, the "Victims" didn't say another word about it anymore, but suddenly they got re-instated without any real reason. You figure it out.
"hey, we'll give you $500000 if you do us a favour..."
Indeed they were, or at least they were retracted [by the "sexually asaulted"], though the Swedish government put them back for no reason.
So no one who claims to have actually been sexually assaulted by him is pressing charges?

Mrs. Assmage: I don't care how you do it. I won't let you in this house until you bring me back some grandkids!

Indeed.
