So yeah, after seeing it again in my local Cinema for Halloween, and posting about it in an Akira/soundtrack thread, it got me thinking about it again. It's probably the least watched of the series for some reason, anybody I talked to about it go's "Nah mate, never seen it. But 2 was great" In fact for lot of people in the cinema that night it was their first viewing too (A few of my friends came with me, they wouldn't stop screaming half the fucking time, don't even ask about the bit when Arnold cut his eye out with the scalpel.) Anyway about the film:

(yes that did just happen)
I always found it hard to make my mind up about which one was my favorite, this or 2. I suppose this takes the crown because it was just brutal and in your face. In 2 Arnold was the "good" guy and you kinda felt safe in a way, even though Robert Patrick's creepy as fuck t-1000 seemed unstoppable. In the original he is the villain and just never stops scaring the shit out of people. as Reese says: "You still don't get it, do you? He'll find her! That's what he does! It's ALL he does! You can't stop him! He'll wade through you! He'll reach down her throat and tear her fuckin' heart out!"
I remember the first time I seen the film, and thinking ah man, he can't go into the police station, there's like 100 cops in there, but he does and he annihilates them all. after seeing the film in the cinema again it kinda brought back those memories of "holy fuck that was bad-ass" that I got 10 years ago. Anyway brilliant film, what do you guys think?
(the soundtrack was mad as well, I recommend having a look on you tube or listening to it on you-tube, it's not all synth it has a few rock tunes too.)
also what the hell is up with the media tags, they are fucked.
Only Schwarzie is badass enough to fire a shotgun with one hand.
In some ways I like the first one more than the sequel.
Especially the theme song and the segment where [sp]he hunts down all of the Sarah Connors using the phonebook,[/sp] really chilling stuff
Great movie but the second one is so much better
Oh my god, this was awesome. Reese was a true bad ass, going up against Arnie with a broken leg. He died a gentleman and a hero for saving Connor. This and Judgment day were the best.

Yeah the Drum thing that plays when the Terminator is around, "dun dun dun dun" That was cool.
This movie is a timeless classic and my favourite movie of all time.
Its theme song was simply amazing, it was dark, cold, scary and peaceful at the same time. It is my favourite of the series because arnold really played the terminator good as a villian.
Also like Mabus said, parts of the theme in the movie just added to its darkness and coldness.
ill be back
Saw it on release day. I was pretty amazed how well the special effects were at that time, and they still hold up pretty damn well. IMHO, I think it's even better than T2. The atmosphere is top notch.
Why doesn't James Cameron make awesome movies like this anymore ?
Why doesn't James Cameron make awesome movies like this anymore ?
Because he sleeps on a mattress made up of 100 dollar bills and lives in a house of solid gold.
Damnit you've made me stick in the DVD again.
I love the Terminator movies, but the new one was just bad. Also, I saw the first Terminator on TV in Spanish before I saw it in English. Spanish Arnold is bad ass.

Because he's old and rich.
The only really good movies he ever made were Aliens and the first Terminator. Everything else has been crap after he became "established", and generally didn't give a rat's ass, cause he's James Fucking Cameron.
T2 is essentially T1 with a gigantic budget. (News at the time basically said "there's no way in hell they''ll make a 300 million profit, it's a disaster")
Everything after that has been pretty much shit. Also got successfully sued for plagiarism... twice.
Pretty much same for his "revolutionary new method" of film-making. ie, umm motion capture and virtual sets with stereo cameras.
Game companies have been using the same methods for HOW long?

The Abyss? True Lies? Rambo First Blood Part 2? Titanic? Dark Angel? (going by writer)
He has had many good films, only one of his I really disliked was Avatar.
I'm fucking in love with the first two Terminator films. The third one was alright.
How was Terminator: Salvation?
Generic. [sp]Would have been epically awesomely original fail if they went with the original premise to replace John with Marcus wearing John's skin. [/sp] How McG keeps getting jobs is beyond me.
I preferred Salvation to 3 although I know that many will disagree with me. 3 was more of a Terminator film but Salvation was entertaining in a none terminator way.
Terminator 3 was pure unadulterated shit.
Salvation was much more watchable than it, considering we finally got to see the war.
I need to watch this film again. Terminator 2 is still my favorite

Video of Spanish Arnold, now.

What peeved my off about the war is that it looked nothing like how it was depicted in the original. The few short clips of the future looks so gritty and dark, I thought in Terminator Salvation everything looked too clean.
Terminator, one of the best movies ever(both 1 and 2). Hell, the theme song of T1 and T2 are badass as well.
By the way, it started from the director's nightmares(a robotic skeleton walking through fire scared the shit out of the director).
Terminator 2 shall always be the best Terminator

Shut up and never say that again
Because he sleeps on a mattress made up of 100 dollar bills and lives in a house of solid gold.
And he's run out of old sci fi stuff to steal from.
Video of Spanish Arnold, now.
this.

Rambo 2 blew my balls. One of the most boring movies I've ever seen.
It's two hours of a character acting out of character, firing at soldiers, and screaming. There's never any tension and there's never any connection to the movie. The first one was infinitely better.
Although I agree that the original Rambo was the best, Cameron has still made some good movies beyond Terminator and Aliens.
The first one is better, but I'd rather watch the second one.
