I've had a lot of fun with this oldie of a game and what inspired me to play it once more was this thread

Many thanks.
I love how everyone's playing the classic GTAs again, sometimes I feel like everybody forgot about them.
I love playing this on my old dreamcast!
2 was my favorite until San Andreas, I'm glad it's getting more players now.
I loved 3 and VC, but 2 will have a special place in my heart.
I spent far too much time playing GTA2 back when Rockstar first gave it out for free. Awesome game, awesome video.
I'd do GTA 1 but it has some weird issues, it stutters with enabled fps cap and without it suddenly speeds up and is unplayable.
Oh man i totally forgot about the car upgrades.

Yeah, ice cream truck with machine guns is the shit, you bait people and then you just shoot them.

GTA I isn't nearly as fun as GTA II anyway.
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this, but it was very entertaining.
The ice cream van alone brings back so many memories.
I was pretty annoyed about the mouse cursor being on screen, but when you zoomed in on it, I lost my shit.

Yes, for some reason I could not make it go away so instead I decided to point out this silly cursor, a friend of mine who watched it said he didn't notice it until I zoomed in on it, I managed to get rid of it later.

I'd love if Rockstar actually made HD version of two first GTA's so they support higher resolutions, instead you are stuck with 4:3 and you must fake it to get decent youtube quality.
I thought driving cars onto the rail caused the car to go TICKATICKATICKTICKTICKTITITITITITI and then explode?

That's in GTA 1, GTA 2 is different, but you can still fry yourself if you walk along the rail too far.
Man I remember going to my friends house after school just to play this game
I used to play gta:london literally 24/7
If they remade that now, shit would be so awesome!

GTA2 was an integral part of my childhood. I will never forget it
Ohh, I miss those gun-car garages. A shame we don't get that now :v:
I setup a GTA 2 MP game with few friends yesterday but GTA 2 has this annoying system where it will lower your fps instead of latency to make the game even for all players, so if you imagine it was 3 of us and we played it for about 10 mins with very low frame rate then we gave up, although it was really fun chasing each other in the cars, you are limited to play with people living in your country to have properly working mp game.
"Q: Why is the game so slow? Why does GTA2 lag?
A: GTA2 has simple network code that delays the game until everyone receives all the packets. This is great for accuracy but it means the game will slow down if there is even a single network delay.
You really need a ping to your opponents of under 130ms for fast gameplay. That eliminates playing against people on other continents."
It's crazy that we went from that to this
