How do I use techno mumbo jumbo to convince my ISP?

Hello. My family is paying I believe 50 or 60 bucks a month for 7Mb/s Download and I believe 0.65Mb/s Upload. This is the maximum plan they offer. Of course, Shaw Communications, a rival ISP in our province, has faster speeds, and I think, (Not sure) better customer service. Our Provider, MTS, has really bad customer service, basically reads from a book and thinks everyone who calls is a grandma who needs to connect to their interbutts.
Is there any way I or my parents can call (probably me) and use some fancy words that mean something to get a faster connection speed? (Along the lines of, I've done all these advanced things with your router you gave me and my connection still is shitty.)

We have been with them for 5 years, and we have 3 cellphones, TV, Internet, and Home Phone bundled with them. We have also had problems with our TV pixelating (digital TV I believe) for about 3 years now, and they still haven't solved the problem, even after coming 9 or 10 times! Maybe I could use that to convince them to up the speeds?
I mean, it's summer, and I don't think everyone who is sharing this line is at home browsing the net and streaming Youtube. Even at midnight I get these speeds too.
I mean, companies not giving you what you pay for? What kind of crap is that?
Thanks guys, maybe you can help me.
Companies do give you the speeds that you pay for, they are legally able under the fine print "Up to". The best I can advise is that you go is when your contract is up, go with a new ISP.
That's very close to what your company claims they provide. When they say that they provide 7mb/s download, that means that if there is only one person on a node, they would get that speed. Each company routes internet to different nodes and depending on how many people are on that node will determine your speed.
tl;dr: Your speed is fine.
As for your digital cable, look for a cable booster. It's a simple device that you plug into your cable line where it comes into the house to boost the signal across the house.
If you use technical language without knowing what you're saying you just sound like an idiot.
It's so stupid though. Shaw provides like, 15 Mb/s for 50 bucks a month, and MTS is sitting pretty at a 7Mb/s. Gahhh!

Then get Shaw
If your current ISP isn't living up too what you pay for, Switch too what you think is better.
Wait, you're getting 6.5Mb/s on a 7Mb/s connection...
Why the fuck are you complaining?
I get about 4Mb/s on my 8Mb/s connection.
If Shaw is so much better, then why don't you just switch to them when your contract ends?
Wow man that's really terrible I get the same speeds on my iPhone for about the same price and it's unlimited also a phone.
Before you switch, check to see how many people are on the Shaw node in your area. If there's a lot, you might not get the speed you want. It might be slightly slower but it should still be fast enough.
A better way to convince them is to compare it to something they know. Tell them that right now you're paying more for less and it'd be the equivalent of paying $.20 extra for gas when you can go to a different station and get the same amount for less.
