• Unmountable Boot Volume - WinXP

So I got this laptop from my brother - he thought it was broken since whenever he started up the computer it would immediately restart before Vista's bootloader was fully done. So I got it, and upon seeing that it was bluescreening, I attended to reinstalling the OS as Windows XP. I did a quick format, install went well. Upon restarting the laptop to try to boot into Windows XP, however, there's a blue screen that says UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME STOP 0x000000ED (0x89386900, 0xc000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Is the hard drive fried or something? I'd imagine it wouldn't let me install Windows XP if that was the problem, though.' EDIT: I just went ahead and got a new SATA hard drive for my laptop. It works great now. :D
