I forgot this game ever came out, was it any good?
In my honest opinion (and I have been a die hard twisted metal fan since the series first started,) it WASN'T as good as the old ones. I got my share of fun out of it, but my biggest problems are the controls feel awkward as hell (and the control scheme is even called twisted metal classic....there is NOTHING classic about those controls other than press square to go) and the difficulty goes up and down like the panties of a whore. Some areas of the game are laughably easy while others are hair tearing, ninja gaiden-esque hard. I do like the idea that the game is more than just "blow everything up to win" though destruction is a large part of it. There are many different gamemodes, all offering different challenges. The graphics are breathtaking and the game maps are large and largely destructible (you can drive through buildings as though they were made of plastic.) I think the place that this game excelled best in was the storytelling. You really got a good look at how dark and brutal twisted metal is suppossed to be. Sweet Tooth being a merciless serial killer, Calypso being the devil-incarnate, etc etc. Its definitely worth a rental, but its up to you if you wanna buy it or not. Twisted Metal 4 still holds a place in my heart as the series best game though. TLDR: Game has its ups and downs, should rent it if you are interested and buy if you like it.

I think I would have liked the first alternate ending more than the actual ending. The game itself was fun but short which is my only complaint. It was nice to see all the references and an actual sequel to my childhoods favorite franchise but it definitely wasn't a time machine. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] By the way anyone know how well it sold?
It didn't sell amazingly. I'm pissed off that Jaffe basically retreated from Sony because of internal politics. Sweet Tooth's story was glorious in this.
