• Two AMD/ATI graphics cards in one computer

I'm trying to run a 3 monitor set-up with two dedicated graphics card. The main one is a 6750HD, which runs my primary monitor as well as a CRT, and the second is an X800, which powers a VGA monitor. My latest version of Catalyst does not want to run with the X800 installed in the computer; it says something about no drivers installed even though the drivers are very clearly installed. Any ideas?
You can't run a legacy ATI card with a modern HD6xxx series card, they're too many generations apart. The only case in which you can run two different ATI cards is if they're close enough together to be supported by the same driver bundle (eg. a HD4xxx and HD6xxx would work together.) Since both cards use the same DLL names for driver libraries, you won't be able to manually install an older set of ATI drivers without screwing up the drivers for the new card.
Ah, okay, I understand. Now, if I were to install my old 9800GT, I could install the Nvidia card no problem because it'd be using a different driver entirely?
Nvidia and ATI drivers also don't play nice. The newer drivers for both will generally refuse to work if it detects drivers from the other.
