What? Chickens? Yes, chickens! Chickens are one of the staple animals in human history! The Aztecs! The Chinese! The English! Every civilization has had some sort of chicken in its past. Okay, well I get that, but why now? Good question. Chickens can supply their owners with free eggs, feather, meat and companionship. At an early age, chickens can really bond with their owners, making them top of the pecking order. That’s pretty neat actually. So where should I start? First off, you should research your general location. Use the American Poultry Association or the Poultry Club of Great Britain to get some basic information down. Alright, I see what chickens I can buy, but which type? Another good question, actually. There are over 200 breeds of chickens, each one for a different lifestyle. Pay close attention to your general location and the weather. Chickens like the Arabian Aseel are bred for warmer climates instead of those in the far north, unlike their Dorking cousins. What should I do to care for my chickens? You can find a lot of books on chickens, or find plenty of websites on the basics of chicken care. What about the Associations/Clubs of my country? Can I enter those? Yes, but I would be very careful about doing so. Entries are usually slim, and competitions are cutthroat, and there’s no mercy for newbies. Do you own any chickens? No. Not yet. Are there any chicken owners here on Facepunch? You're asking me!
chickens is a facepunch member, not an animal
you missed fast threads
is this even a serious thread?
you missed fast threads
Actually, no I didn't. Chickens are a fairly interesting topic once you really start looking at how Humanity has shaped their breeds. If you compared two breeds, say the Japanese Shamo and the British Dorking, you'd find that they are completely different, but totally suited to their own environments. And they taste good too.
Chickens are dickbags, my family raised a flock a few years back.
I thought I was going to see nudes [editline]idk[/editline] I'm disappointed
nice cock
Well I did just notice that the title would be a bit misleading, due to the whole Chickens! and the BonerGate scandal. I'll get a mod to fix the title. I eat chicken. And they taste good.

Even when you kicked them hard enough to toss them in the air, they just bounced right back up and ran at you more!
I eat chicken. And they taste good.
Indeed. I'll add a link to some pretty good recipes.

fuk yo scrub ass chickens, sit down pigs FTW muthefuka!
Our neighbors kept chickens. It was dumb, they let them run around our neighborhood and they kept shitting on our porch and on the hoods of our cars and shit. Until one night a coyote or something got into their yard and ate a bunch of them. I may or may not have left the fence open for that to happen. On the other hand I always played with the chickens at my grandma's farm house when I was little, they were pretty cool. They were a lot more friendly than I expected too. Then a dog ate those. I didn't do that one though.

But no matter what, that's what roosters are bred to do, defend the homestead and pass on their genes. But I can totally understand how it would eventually become an annoyance. Maybe the running is what set them off, I don't know, I'm more of an Egg person :v: [editline]1st January 2012[/editline]
Our neighbors kept chickens. It's a coop that you can pick up and move around the yard. They'll eat bugs and stuff that's in the grass, and their droppings will naturally fertalize your yard. But at night, always put their coop on lockdown. If a fox can't get in, a hawk will.
I expect a witty response from chickens! Very soon.
Malay chickens are the best
chickens are like the proletariat of birds Hah. chickens !
It is often said that the male chicken in the group will show dominance to the other, younger, male chickens by posting pictures of it's penis on internet forums. This is just a myth though.
you missed fast threads
This is not a fast thread. Chickens rock.
CHICKENS!
Man he really wants that cock.

Why can't chickens fly?
Why can't chickens fly?
They can, but their stout bodies and low-to-the ground lifestyle makes it pretty pointless.
The only kind of chicken I like:
