Syrian Rebels Have Begun Receiving Their New Shipments Of Weapons

[QUOTE]Syrian rebels say they have received a shipment of weapons from their allies, the latest since the US said it would give military support to opponents of President Bashar al-Assad.
Free Syrian Army spokesman Louay Muqdad claimed the weapons could "change the course of the battle" against the Syrian regime.
"We've received quantities of new types of weapons, including some that we asked for and that we believe will change the course of the battle on the ground," Muqdad told the AFP news agency.
"We have begun distributing them on the front lines, they will be in the hands of professional officers and FSA fighters," he said.
He did not specify what weapons had been received or when they had arrived, but added that another shipment was expected soon.
"The weapons will be used for one objective, which is to fight the regime of Bashar al-Assad," Muqdad insisted. "They will be collected after the fall of the regime, we have made this commitment to the friends and brotherly countries."

The weapons probably won't change much considering Iran is sending 4000 special forces and Hezbollah is currently changing the course of the entire war. But now the rebel side has to go with their statement on being armed for peace and attend Geneva to agree on a peaceful solution.
"We gotta do something to stop all this bloodshed!"
"I've got an Idea!"
"What?"
"Let's send guns!"
America and it's allies are now sending weapons to Hezbollah and AL queda how ironic.

Machiavellian tactics go beautifully hand in hand with the sale of weapons.

yeah, I think you're right. The no fly zone (if imposed) + all the stuff they already have is enough.

Al-Qaeda maybe but Hezbollah is on the government side.

With Hezbollah and Iran now fighting on behalf of Assad, those weapons will eventually be captured once the Syrian government wins the war. Where do you think they'll go? And that's just the ones the government will capture. It's a given that any Hezbollah forces capture will go straight to Lebanon.
Guns are like STD's, people love to spread them around. Once you have them, you'll probably end up giving some to your friends. Then, your friends are going to share with their friends, who may or may not be your enemies. Repeat the cycle across the region you're giving it to and nearby borders. But the 'rebels' promised they'd be collected and gathered at the end, so I guess it's a fail safe plan Nothing could possibly go wrong!
Arming rebels is incredibly dumb. If you want to help, send your own men with the weapons and then you have control on how they're used.
Remember when you armed the afghan rebels to drive the russians away?
Yeah.
Or when we armed those Vietcong fellows to drive the japs away from Indochina

Is this guy serious, Libya is still struggling with this

come on guys, just give them back pleaseeeee
As horrible as this sounds, let them have the weapons. It will mean nothing due to the Iranian special forces coming in as well as Hezbollah. All they'll do is continue to focus on a single hot point instead of spreading all over the place.
I can't wait to go to war with these guys in about 20 years.

And risk lives in a pointless war like Korea,Vietnam, gulf war, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Gulf war had maybe 200 people dead, not that bad of a record, and Korea was reasonable as far as wars go, we were forced to intervene since the North invaded the South and it was our puppet state.
What fucking stupid cunt decided it was a good idea to send weapons to those crazy-ass rebels?

People who are against the crazy-ass government.
Men are tools of war, I'm a tool of war and your nerdy ass is a tool of war.
America man and Britian boy want to keep their buddys in the middle east half-safe without sounding like the bad guys, it's p.much a proxy war with Russia since they're supplying troops too.
Rather some wanker over there die than a fresh faced 20 year old that the Sun can have a field day with. No?
This is kind of how WWI kicked off. Hostilities between local groups at first then one by one allies for each side start jumping in. It tends to escalate because once you jump in, it's too embarrassing to withdraw later when the other side can point and laugh at how you lost.
So if we(the US) send weapons, we are actually committed now to the rebels winning. If the rebels get their asses kicked, even with our weapons, that's just a blow to our prestige that can't be allowed. Of course, this is exactly how the Russians, the Iranians, and China will feel about their interests in this conflict. So no one will back off. It could get a lot uglier than anyone realizes.
...and watch how they will use our own weapons to kill us and innocent people. I really wish we'd just stay out of a conflict for once.
Weapons given to Mujahideen to defeat the soviets in the 80s are being used to kill American/Nato forces today.
I imagine these weapons will be used against us in the distant future.
