UNION HRD Minister Kapil Sibal has today finally announced and launched the “Sakshat” Tablet. The only fix here is that its no longer called that, its now called the “Aakash” Tablet. The device is being currently manufactured by Datawinds and is going to be distributed to students for a price of Rs. 1,799 /- or approx US $ 35. Alternatively if you are a non-student buyer you will be able to buy the tablet off from shelves for Rs. 2999/- or about US $ 60.
We find it commendable that the minister has been able to deliver on his word, even though we earlier though this couldn’t happen.
No way, thats a steal.
I'm mildly interested.
Would buy one, unless independent review sites states that it's complete shit.
This will be great for schools all over the world.

Reviews said the responsiveness is crap on it, and takes a long time to process things.
But for £29 as a student, I can take it to school and no big loss if its broken.
