• Getting hundreds of "failed delivery" messages from Hotmail

So I booted up my PC this morning and checked my various e-mail accounts, only to discover that my Hotmail account had hundreds of these "delivery failed" messages: I looked at the times between the messages, and my Hotmail account has apparently been trying to send one of these messages (each to a different person) on average every 2 minutes The most obvious cause of this I can think of is that my account has been compromised, so what can I do to fix this (other than change my password)? Also it's probably worth pointing out that the people that these e-mails are being sent to aren't on my contacts list, I don't know who they are.

Happened to me too actually, I feel like hotmail has terrible security; I recommend you switch to gmail as changing my password did not solve the problem, and eventually hotmail disabled my account because of "unusual activity".

I'm sure you can agree that's more than a minor annoyance. What's happening is someone is using your email address to send spam/phishing attempts. They don't actually need access to your account to send email as you, but when the message can't be delivered it gets bounced back to you.
If your account is on unusual activity, go to verify or whatever it's called, then simply press F5 (Normal refresh button) This takes you to the Hotmail. I don't use that adress anymore, but if you have Steam or other things on the account I reccommend you to both switch mail, and if neccessary do that.
