I don't like that they made the comparison between the field uprade system to something similar in Call of Duty, simply because my idiot friends will say that battlefield is borrowing ideas from CoD, when the system sounds almost identical to the one in BF2142.
So what about the mortar that's already in Battlefield 3? Is it not coming over to 4?

Not too convinced yet. I'll probably wait for the price to dip, although I haven't really been playing BF3 for a while. Might get back into it.
Thank god the monkey face assault is gone
I hope they don't have "Scope glare" you know THIS BULLSHIT [t]http://webassets.scea.com/forums/15857_glare.jpg[/t]
I hope they don't have "Scope glare" you know THIS BULLSHIT
Or flashlights and laser sights brighter than the sun in broad daylight.
I hope they don't have "Scope glare" you know THIS BULLSHIT [t]http://webassets.scea.com/forums/15857_glare.jpg[/t]
no way man that's how i get my kills! It should be more realistic though, there's glare even at night with no light
I hope they don't have "Scope glare" you know THIS BULLSHIT [t]http://webassets.scea.com/forums/15857_glare.jpg[/t]
Why? Snipers can just hide in a bush with a muzzle suppressor and never be found in the heat of the battle. The glare - even if it's exaggerated - is authentic.
Or flashlights and laser sights brighter than the sun in broad daylight.
I'm in campain and I can't count on my fingers how angry I am over being shot over not seeing because there is sun spot in a TRAIN or how car headlights literally beam AS IF A GIANT VERTICAL LINE ACROSS YOUR FACE
Why?
You make it sound like scope glares don't exist in real life.
do they look like giant beams of light?' the issue with BF3 is they overdo lighting too much and it ends up looking really silly
I paid for the ultimate super gold alpha BF3 edition pack not too long ago for ~$100. Don't think I will be getting this anytime soon.
do they look like giant beams of light?' the issue with BF3 is they overdo lighting too much and it ends up looking really silly
I bet it's all balancing in the end. Due to the immense size of some maps, the superiority one sniper would have would be extreme. He could literally just stay in one spot and get kill after kill, never getting noticed. And that picture you had is hardly a "giant beam of light". It just looks like a sunlight reflection.
You make it sound like scope glares don't exist in real life.
They really don't though. At least modern day scopes don't. It was a huge problem in previous wars though.

I just want it toned down really. that and flashlights are pretty bad too [thumb]http://mp1st.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BF3_paris_3_656x3691.jpg[/thumb][thumb]http://i.imgur.com/CU6xw.jpg[/thumb][thumb]http://psx-scene.com/forums/content/attachments/31704d1321529077-battle3.gif/[/thumb] and then theres the sun [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560947083670967225/8FBA6F852E48B0A1EF6310D578BD4F4DD37381CE/[/thumb] or even this ungodly looking garbage [thumb]http://gamedonks.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Battlefield-3-Garage-Glare.jpg[/thumb]
Or flashlights and laser sights brighter than the sun in broad daylight.
Have you looked at the sun in BF3? ._.

Snipers can't do anything when six pounds of C4 convinces their ass to overtake their face...
And that picture you had is hardly a "giant beam of light".
Thank god the monkey face assault is gone
Chances are, the actual player models will end up looking a bit different.
the military would know enough to use that, so how could it even be a mechanic for realism no other game really has it outside of being a gameplay mechanic.
Who said it was a mechanic for realism? It's merely a mechanic to not make the Recon class overpowered.
The sniper glare is to avoid very frustrating deaths that you couldn't possibly see coming. It balances the sniper role immensely. As for the mortar: glad it's back in the BC2 (or similar) form. Lot more fun, and it doesn't make the mortar users a waste of player slots.

The auto mortar strike from BC2 makes the player lazy.
