• First time builder! Some problems

Hi all, just built my first rig. Booted it up, everythings going great really just a two things are annoying. Sound isn't working for my monitor. I have a ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" LCD that supposed to have speakers... Though nothing I have done has gotten it to work. Installed the latest drivers for EVERYTHING. Tried DVI and VGA... Made sure that both the monitor and the volume mixer are at max. I can get sound through both regular headphones in the port as well as my USB headset, but that's it. Also, the USB 3.0 ports in the front do not work. The back ones do, as well as all the rest of the ports in the front, but not the USB 3.0. Any help for a newbie builder? Thanks Here's the specs: Intel Core i5 3.4GHz 8 GB ram GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB 256-bit 1TB HDD Windows 7...

Huh, well that's the problem I suppose.... I guess a green wire is supposed to come with the monitor someone just told me? I did not get one so that's the problem. edit: family member threw it away so fixed that :P
The front USB ports need to be hooked up to the motherboard via connectors that you would find inside of the case. Are you sure you plugged those in? Also for USB 3.0 specifically your motherboard needs to support it, it may have USB 2.0 but no 3.0 front panel support.
