• Need a New Guitar

Pretty self-explanatory title. My price range is around a 400$ maximum, and I'm really looking for versatility in terms of styles of music you can play on whichever model I choose since I haven't devoted myself to one style of music quite yet. So far I've been pointed to the Ibanez RG7321 7 String Electric Guitar (Black w/ Rosewood Fingerboard) and Ibanez AS73BBKF Semi-Acoustic Electric Guitar, though I'm not entirely sure of either.
then buy one
$400 will not get you even a decent guitar tbh, it'll get you a shit one. Style of music will depend on what you're playing and your method of playing it, in most cases not the guitar. The exceptions would be pedals and other gear if you want to play Hendrix or Morello stuff or whatever accurately, or if you want to play dobro music or something. I wouldn't advise buying a 7-string over a 6-string just for kicks if you don't particularly want one over the other. I'll assume you're a beginner just based on the budget on which you plan to buy a guitar with (And your mention of the rosewood fingerboard). If this is the case I advise A. saving money for a little while so you can get yourself a fairly good instrument, B. get an acoustic and play on that until you're pretty spiffy, by which time you should have enough money to get a fairly good electric, and suddenly you'll find everything leaps and bounds easier because of the action difference and amp outlet. If none of that was the sort of advice you were looking for, I'd say get the Semi-Acoustic between those two initial options.
