A MOVIE-loving petrolhead has spent $AU160,000 creating his own Interceptor — the iconic car from Mad Max. Michigan born Dale Walter fell in love with the powerful vehicle when he watched George Miller’s seminal film over thirty years ago in a tiny theatre. The famous car has featured in several films in the Mad Max franchise, including the latest MadMad: Fury Road, which stars British actor Tom Hardy in the title role. In 2008, Dale commissioned specialist company Mad Max Cars to convert his 1972 Australian Ford Falcon into the iconic Interceptor — a process which took five years and $AU160,000.
http://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/mad-max-fan-spends-160000-to-build-replica-of-the-interceptor-featured-in-the-franchise/story-fnjwucvh-1227393166419
That's some damn dedication right there. End product looks great.
Baller.
that movie kinda reminds me of borderlands
that movie kinda reminds me of borderlands
borderlands was inspired by the franchise is why. Its pretty easy to see, both are absolutely bleeding mad and its great
Man for that kind of cash I wouldn't even care if the supercharger couldn't be turned on and off like in the film, I'd want it to be functioning not just a prop.
Loved it when people put a fuckload of effort to make movie cars. This guy did the Dark Knight batmobile, from scratch
Kind of disappointing that he basically paid other people to make it for him, instead of doing it himself. The end result might be better but it's more interesting when there's a story to it.
Man, it's the ducks guts [editline]14th June 2015[/editline] Fucking disappoints me that the interceptor is barely in Fury Roads, such an awesome car and it's hardly in it
6 miles to the gallon :v: There was an XB sedan for sale near me not too long ago. I thought about buying it and doing it up like one of the yellow MFP cars, but it sold before I had time to think it over.
pfft, nice cage. shouldve spent that on some monkey hangers instead like a real man.

I hope nobody tries to syphon his guzzoline.

I just love that it's called the Doof Wagon.
Its a shame the blower is fake like most of the mad max clones, so far found only one real one.
Its a shame the blower is fake like most of the mad max clones, so far found only one real one.
It's not like a real blower is that expensive in the grand scheme of things when you get into builds like this. I think it's just because Max switching it on is so iconic, most people who build these want to be able to do it.
MadMad: Fury Road
Honestly, I prefer it this way. [editline]/[/editline] Catch the sequels, SadSad: Melancholy Lane and GladGlad: Joyous Avenue.
[sp]I hate how they wrecked it at the end.[/sp]
What? I thought they just [sp]stashed it at the citadel[/sp]. OH [sp]it's the car Slit was driving at the end. I didn't notice that.[/sp]
i love the look of it sawed off shotguns aren't illegal here in the US, unless you didn't pay the tax stamp for it, though
What? I thought they just [sp]stashed it at the citadel[/sp].
[sp]I think it's the one that was slammed between the two War Rigs in the climax.[/sp]
Which is one of the reasons that, while I enjoyed the movie, I don't like how far it went from the established lore.
Which is one of the reasons that, while I enjoyed the movie, I don't like how far it went from the established lore.
Having not seen the originals yet, where did it depart? Unless [sp]the interceptor was supposed to be impervious to truck-smashings, how does smashing it with some trucks invalidate things?[/sp]
Which is one of the reasons that, while I enjoyed the movie, I don't like how far it went from the established lore.
It didn't stray from the lore at all really. At the end of the first Mad Max, Max comes to a fork in the road. One direction led to Road Warrior and then Thunderdome (I can't get beyond it), the other led to Fury Road.
I know The Last Of The V8s is badass and what every fan wants, but I still like the "stock" MFP designs the best. They're sorta futuristic, but very 80s. [t]http://images.watoday.com.au/2010/06/10/1583423/mad-max_600a-600x400.jpg[/t]

The Interceptor the War Boys build after taking it from Max is called 'Razor Cola'
chuckled at the amount of tramp that thing got. still a cool ride. he ain't fucking about the price of the XB coupe either, they can sell for as little as 25k for a shell
that movie kinda reminds me of borderlands
MEDIOCRE
borderlands was inspired by the franchise is why. Its pretty easy to see, both are absolutely bleeding mad and its great
well i didn't know never even heard of this franchise until recently
