they aren't gambling if your blind
How much were you paid to make this assertion?
What a load of bullshit.
Not surprised at all they'd say that, you can't even turn on the TV anymore without some gambling lottery being shoved down your throat.
Ah, once again my country lets me down.
Lootboxes type shit have always been in mobile games and they didn't get any flak for it so why should EA. People need to stop buying shit if they want things like this to go away. But apparently season passes and mountains of dlc are still around so I fear the future of gaming.

No, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean it should not exist. In mobile games it's almost a necessity. There's no way that mobile game development is given the same amount of funding as a huge AAA Star Wars game from EA, and because of that, I can understand having them riddled with microtransactions (depending on the game, a lot of them are fine, a lot of them are also trash with how they handle MT). Why should I have to spend $60 on a game only to have to then pay more for a chance at unlocking the things I want? Imagine selling a Star Wars game where you can't actually use any lightsabers ever until you buy lootboxes to unlock them. That's what the problem is here. Microtransactions are by large okay, it depends entirely on their implementation into the game. If you're locking tons of content behind a probability paywall, then your game may as well be F2P because people are going to be pissed (as we have seen in these recent weeks) when they find out they have to pay for lootboxes to get what they want out of the game. I think lootboxes should die. I'm tired of them. Microtransactions make sense for F2P and smaller games from smaller studios (additional income, etc), but they have no place in a Star Wars game which is owned by Disney and published by EA. There's no way in hell they "need" the extra money from microtransactions.

UK Gambling Commission restates that they are fucking retarded
Did anyone here read the article and the reasons why they can't regulate?
Terrific, this country is good for gaming, clearly.
