Holy shit 33% off, what a steal
How can activision afford to put the price so low?
The best game ever made. Second's MW3.
oh great this 7 month old game is £26 instead of £40, incidentally the former is still the price of most brand new AAA games on what a fucking steal, now you don't pay the artificially inflated RRP but rather the price of any other game, it's like activision are seling you an apple, but it costs £5 whereas all other apples cost £2, but all your casual acquaintances have eaten this apple and thought it was OK, so you want to get in on the action so you can discuss the tasste and texture with them. you've only got £3 in your wallet so you ask activision if they can ut you a deal, and they say they'll sell it to you for £3 if you wait outside the shop for 3 hours until the rush has died down so you wait, buy it and eat it. it's OK but you think it's overrated and people are only eating this apple because everyone else is, and now you don't have any money for the bus or any other fruit so you eat the apple core as well, as you're walking home you get raped every few months afterward, as you and your friends are just getting tired of everyone talking about that particular apple, activision start selling small apple chunks for £2 each, which is more than what you'd pay for them but you and your friends try them anyway to see if they're any better or different tasting but they're not. this goes on every few months for a year until activision say they're selling a new apple that tastes better. of course you buy it, and it doesn't. but you and your friends eat it anyway. again and again and again, until everyone's sick of apples and activision stop selling them /torturedanalogy
How can activision afford to put the price so low?
From the greatness of their solid black hearts.
The game itself is surprising, to say the least. It's probably the best new-gen CoD. Nonetheless not worth it at it's price.
Now only £4 more expensive than most AAA games on release!
May as well give the multiplayer a try, probably not going to buy it though. Let's face it, Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4 were the gems of the series.

Black Ops has prety decent gameplay when the maps aren't being raped by constant killstreaks, which is the first 30 seconds of most games.
Now it's only $66.99 USD in my region!
Now only £4 more expensive than most AAA games on release!
Don't you mean less? It's £26.79, and most new AAA PC games retail at £29.99.
Could the multiplayer to this game get any more boring. Tried the free weekend out last night, it consisted of walking round a corner, and either killing or dying within about a second. Then waiting for respawn. How can this be so interesting to people?

Black Ops 2 letting you customize botmatches this time around as well as pick any weapon, streak, and attachment for the class creation system when you play private matches? That's one hell of a double-whammy bonus to the matter.
Yay free weekend! All I ever wanted. No use in buying it since it will die in a year like the others.
Yay free weekend! All I ever wanted. No use in buying it since it will die in a year like the others.
But your avatar is from black ops 2.
But your avatar is from black ops 2.
And?

It still had it's weapon hiearchy like any FPS and the perks were pretty dumb. Forgiveable because it was their first go, but poorly balanced nonetheless. I find Black Ops to have generally better balance overall, the only problem is killstreaks, which were overall done almost perfectly in CoD4 and then turned to absolutely absurdity in MW2 and later games.
If Activision made a free to play Call of duty multiplayer game I'd play the fuck out of it, because the multiplayer is actually kind of fun. The main issue with it is that you have to pay 60€ every year because the multiplayer mode dies out very soon after the following game is released. And since they drop all support for the game the instant they release a new one, you're certain to see hackers in.
I miss those times when COD was more focused in singleplayer. COD 1 was a long game and very entertaining. I also liked how different each new game looked.

http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty_Online Except it's China-only right now, they're trying to play catch-up in the markets CoD is relatively unknown in. But with all the CoD clones China makes, they'll probably not even dent the market over there.

Get helicopter, die, activate it, hope it gets 5 kills, hope the airstrike gets 2 more kills, repeat. But yeah, it wasn't as absurd as MW2 onwards. Then again, if you carried a Stinger or cold blooded perk, you never had any trouble with killstreaks. I still remember completely cockblocking people's killstreaks with it. I'd even kill myself to respawn with more Stinger ammo. And there wasn't that much of a gun hiearchy really. Ofc, there were a few guns that really outdid themselves, like the AK, but other than that, you could pretty much use any gun and get the same effect, with little difference. As for perks, you either had horribly annoying perks like marty and jugg, the usual stopping power/deeper penetration/steady aim/whatever else that everyone had, the more specific and tactical perks like dead silence and UAV jammer, and then you had eavesdrop that was bloody useless. If it had been like its MW2 counterpart, Sitrep Pro, it would have been one of the best perks ever. Hell, it was the best perk ever in MW2, I could hear everyone! Honestly, CoD 4 will forever be the best, and as I said before, MW2 would have been better if they had made it more like CoD 4 and actually took care of it instead of giving it p2p servers, shitty player number restrictions, and so on. Spawn system was also broken as fuck, which is really weird, since a map with 12 players only could have spawned someone in the middle of the enemy, yet a map with 30 always spawned people in the right place. Also, some perks were a bit retarded, some weapons needed a few more tweaks, and killstreaks ran a bit too wild compared to cod4. Treyarch games after those 2 are ok, much more tammed, not as fun IMO because I could really get something fun going on in MW2 for example, and MW3 was shittiest piece of shit anyone has ever shat. Seriously, I may have had some fun here and there in it, but in the end, it was broken as fuck. Maps were TERRIBLE, some weapons were either underpowered or overpowered as all FUCKS... Goddamn even the sounds were bloody awful.
Hey, Black Ops 2 isn't a terrible game. It's not the best, but it's not the worst either. It's kind of a low-middle tier game. A middle-higher tier if you're just keeping it within the CoD series.

I found myself on the unfavored team five games straight and uninstalled it. and I don't mean like "I was on the losing team five games straight" I mean "I was the only one in the positives even though I wasn't even using a gun five games straight" cannot be fucked
So Black Ops 2 Multiplayer has a free weekend and the cocksuckers forgot the best part: Zombies! I gave it a try earlier today and it's probably one of the most luck- and bullshit-based games I've ever played but I can't deny the excitement you get when you manage to play a whole round without being screwed over by overpowered weapons (compared to the starting weapons) or the spawning system.

It's really not that bad of a game, I just wish they'd sell the singleplayer and multiplayer separately, or better yet make the multiplayer F2P considering how smoothly it would transition to that model. But no, they use the bite sized singleplayer to "justify" the insane price point for an iterative update on the formula.
I don't think it's a bad game, but after 4, WaW, and MW2, I'm basically burnt out on CoD's current multiplayer for... life.
It's a shame the Call of Duty games never have like a really good sale price, as I usually enjoy the singleplayer campaigns. By the time you can pick them up for £20 or less the multiplayer has lost most of its player base.
