• Jewish Democrat lawmakers not invited to White House Hanukkah Party

Original headline: Congressional Democrats Left Out of White House Hanukkah Party
The latkes were fried and the kosher lamb chops were prepared on Thursday, just as in past years, for the first White House Hanukkah party of the Trump era. But there was one prominent break with tradition: President Trump did not invite Democratic lawmakers. Mr. Trump, who prizes loyalty and seldom forgets a slight, left Democratic members of Congress off his Hanukkah list this year, according to congressional aides tracking the invites. He also did not invite Reform Jewish leaders who have been critical of him or progressive Jewish activists who have differed with him publicly on policy issues. The move injected a partisan tinge into a normally bipartisan celebration at the White House, where on Thursday Mr. Trump spoke to a crowd standing amid Christmas trees. “I know for a fact there are a lot of happy people in this room,” Mr. Trump said to raucous whoops and applause, adding simply, “Jerusalem.” He wished those assembled a Happy Hanukkah, then said, “I think this one will go down as especially special.” [...] Representatives Lee Zeldin of New York and David Kustoff of Tennessee, the two Jewish Republicans in Congress, were attending the party, their offices said. But Jewish Democrats left off the invite list — many of whom have been harsh critics of Mr. Trump — were not in a festive mood. “It’s deeply unfortunate that the White House Hanukkah Party — a bipartisan event bringing together Jewish and non-Jewish leaders alike to celebrate the Festival of Lights since 2001 — has turned into a partisan affair under this administration,” Representative Nita M. Lowey of New York said in a statement. This year, officials slashed the size of the annual reception, inviting around 300 guests to one soiree instead of hosting 1,700 over two parties as in the past.
Source: The New York Times Emphasis mine.
Go fuck yourself, Donnie.
I think Donald may be a secret communist, because he’s classless as fuck.
You can't make this shit up. This administration is incredibly unprofessional and unbelievably transparent about what it really cares about.
Probably the most transparently partisan president ever. His statement about the upcoming budget read like a petulant child at christmas, "I wanna wall and a 355 ship navy and a bunch more army guys, and i want no obamacare and i wanna get more border guys" You get nothing @$$

party before country
I mean, I can understand not inviting all of his critics to his Hanukkah party but it's kind of fucked up not to invite Jewish lawmakers in particular.
It's pretty telling with how the point of this country is to compromise, which means treating the people you disagree with politically fairly. Trump just stacks his companions with yes-men and leaves out any opposition. He's no leader.
After so many neo-nazi's flew their colors with the Republicans I'm surprised there's still Republican Jews to begin with.
It's so odd seeing someone who fought a battle from all sides conform to his party. He was practically independent during the election, being republican on the ballot was more of a formality
“I know for a fact there are a lot of happy people in this room,” Mr. Trump said to raucous whoops and applause, adding simply, “Jerusalem.”
What is this, the fucking crusades? He thinks he conquered the city? That's like half a step away from just yelling out Deus Vult.

He claimed he'd drain the swamp, but he is made of the swamp.
Remember when people called Obama the Divider in Chief and Trump the Uniter? Man I bet those lawmakers feel United as fuck right now.
Remember when people called Obama the Divider in Chief and Trump the Uniter? Man I bet those lawmakers feel United as fuck right now.
But the republicans are united as fuck, look how much they can agree on stuff like how great coal and russia are.
“I know for a fact there are a lot of happy people in this room,” Mr. Trump said to raucous whoops and applause, adding simply, “Jerusalem.”
Reminds me of that episode of Family Guy where Lois couldn't figure out how to get people on her side during an election, so she just kept saying "9/11" in different variations and it won her the election.
But the republicans are united as fuck, look how much they can agree on stuff like how great coal and russia are.
and how being a child rapist isn't that big of a deal.
You all got rused, son. He claimed he'd drain the swamp, but he is made of the swamp.
? What are you talking about lol I'm talking about how he's showing loyalty to republicans despite being cannibalized by them for a long time
Petty.
? What are you talking about lol I'm talking about how he's showing loyalty to republicans despite being cannibalized by them for a long time
I assumed you were talking about Trump, because you weren't at all clear or specific about who you were referring to. If you were talking about someone else, disregard what I said.
I am talking about Trump and how he was an enemy of both Dem and Republican parties, so his showing allegiance now seems odd. You'd think he'd be shitting on both for not bending knee. You used the phrase "you all got rused" so I'm confused.

Technically though, despite the title suggesting otherwise, it can't be due to their religion. I mean it's a Hanukkah party.
Technically though, despite the title suggesting otherwise, it can't be due to their religion. I mean it's a Hanukkah party.
It's not suggesting that though It's telling you that dems aren't invited, including the Jewish ones
“I know for a fact there are a lot of happy people in this room,” Mr. Trump said to raucous whoops and applause, adding simply, “Jerusalem.”
Reminds of the time he had a meeting with Buzz Aldrin and he didn't know what Aldrin was referring to when he said "To Infinity and Beyond" so he responded by talking about whether space is infinite or not.
Technically though, despite the title suggesting otherwise, it can't be due to their religion. I mean it's a Hanukkah party.
It's not about Dems not being invited because they're Jews, it's about Jews not being invited because they're Dems.
Trump is the kind of partisan who would keep shooting during the Christmas Truce.
