Riboud, equally famed for a 1953 picture of a workman painting the Eiffel Tower high above the Paris skyline, passed away Tuesday after a long illness, a family member told AFP. The subject of the "flower power" shot, Jan Rose Kasmir, said on Facebook she had lost touch with Riboud after he began suffering from dementia around six years ago, but could "still hear his wonderful resonant voice".[/QUOTE] the article doesn't say but apparently his wife is saying he died of alzheimer's
Rest in peace, man. It just reminds me people are constantly getting older and those who participated, documented, and so on of these movements will eventually all be gone. The only way we can preserve their memory for future generations to learn from is to make sure photos such as these don't become forgotten in some old archive. I hope he passed away peacefully at least and not in pain due to his illness. Quick-edit: Oh it was Alzheimers? Thats a real shame. Horrible disease.
