https://www.donaldjtrump.com/press-releases/trump-responds-to-senator-cruz-lies-and-warns-of-legal-action
Ted Cruz is a totally unstable individual. He is the single biggest liar I’ve ever come across, in politics or otherwise, and I have seen some of the best of them. His statements are totally untrue and completely outrageous. It is hard to believe a person who proclaims to be a Christian could be so dishonest and lie so much. Cruz said I would be appointing a liberal judge when in fact I will appoint a great conservative and I am the only candidate who has gone so far, at the debate, as to suggest two individuals I feel would best represent the conservative values we need to protect: William “Bill” Pryor Jr. and Diane Sykes. Cruz says I am pro-choice, when in fact I am staunchly pro-life and have been for a long time. Like Ronald Reagan, on many issues, I have evolved. Cruz says I am in favor of ObamaCare, when in fact I have spoken about repealing and replacing this disaster of a system at every speech throughout my campaign and since it’s inception. Meanwhile, Cruz was responsible for getting Bush to put in the judge that failed to vote against ObamaCare twice. Cruz says I will try to take away your second amendment rights, when I am one of the strongest proponents of the right to bear arms and I say so in every speech that I have made for years. I am a proud member of the NRA and so are my sons. Cruz has become unhinged and is lying with the hopes that his statements will go unchecked until after the election and he will save his failing campaign. In Iowa, Cruz told thousands of Ben Carson voters that Dr. Carson had left the race and to instead vote for Ted Cruz. He apologized when the race was over. Likewise, his fraudulent voter violation form sent to Iowa voters. If Ted is going to continue to lie with such desperation, I have no choice but to fight back. One of the ways I can fight back is to bring a lawsuit against him relative to the fact that he was born in Canada and therefore cannot be President. If he doesn’t take down his false ads and retract his lies, I will do so immediately. Additionally, the RNC should intervene and if they don’t they are in default of their pledge to me. I am the strongest on the borders and I will build a wall, and it will be a real wall. I am strongest on illegal immigration, strongest on ISIS, strongest on the military and I will take care of our Vets. I will end common core and preserve the second amendment. I will renegotiate our trade deals and bring our jobs back to our country. I am the only person who will Make America Great Again.
Attacks Cruz for claiming to be a Christian, days later, attacks the Pope for attacking his Christain faith.
what a baby
I mean there's no way that Ted Cruz is becoming president, so Trump should probably just cool it.
I mean there's no way that Ted Cruz is becoming president, so Trump should probably just cool it.
He has the evangelical vote but they seem less relevant now. Honestly, Trump should focus on the fact that the Cruz campaign is basically doing a shit ton of cheating.
Trump is violently shitting on cruz and jeb because it's easy and helps his own image, not because he's worried about either of them winning.
The republican race this year is such a shitshow
Trump first says that he has no problem with Cruz's Canadian birth, then he says that we should be careful because the democrats will bring a lawsuit, and now he's threatening a lawsuit. The guy's a joke. He has zero foundational morals.
The republican race this year is such a shitshow
If the Republican Party ran Mccain with an ok VP they'd win.
If the Republican Party ran Mccain with an ok VP they'd win.
And get sued because McCain was born in Panama, or would that be less likely since he was on a US base, and therefore US soil?
And get sued because McCain was born in Panama, or would that be less likely since he was on a US base, and therefore US soil?
That counts as US soil
He still hasn't got around to suing Obama for being a secret Kenyan yet.
The US act like we own the world so it should all count as US soil
Even if Cruz did become president, which is the least likely outcome, sue the President? You expect that to work, he'd have more backing, more power and more money, which as we all know is what really wins in the American court system.
You seem to forget Nixon
I haven't forgotten Nixon, I just feel as though the American government has got way more corrupt since then.
I haven't forgotten Nixon, I just feel as though the American government has got way more corrupt since then.
i'm assuming "power" works something like mana to you the POTUS is arguably the most heavily scrutinized political figure on earth and there are few appointments the office can make without the approval of another organ of government. if any "corruption" arises it's got to be a conspiracy of endemic proportions. i'm not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that a president has direct power over the courts, which last time i checked was like the thing that ultimately defines what a dictatorship actually is.
Repost what I said in the Iowa caucus thread:
To be president, one must be a "natural born citizen" though there is no definition as to what that is. If a person is born outside the United States from at least one American parent, they can apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States and be deemed a Citizen of the United States from birth. Since the Constitution never defines what a "Natural Born Citizen" actually is, a person born an American is eligible to be President.
It's stupid to claim a person born abroad from American parents is not an American. That would make me ineligible to lead the only country I've known as home because my parents happened to give birth to me while my dad was in Canada working for the US Government. Yeah fuck that bullshit.
The whole natural born citizen thing should be scrapped, as should the absurd 30-something age limit. The requirements should be citizen, age of majority, and elected. That's it.
The whole natural born citizen thing should be scrapped, as should the absurd 30-something age limit. The requirements should be citizen, age of majority, and elected. That's it.
Well natural born citizen is a nebulus term that you could argue several past presidents did not fall under the strictest definition that Cruz uses, and the SCOTUS has never really clarified it, it's loosly thought to be anyone born to US citizens, but it's never really been hammered out, nor has the explanation for the age limits, but changing those would unfortunately require an amendment, though I don't ever really seeing the lower age restriction being an issue since nobody under 35 will probably ever be in a position to win the presidential race. I'm not going to defend Cruz though because he was the one who started this shit about Obama not being an American even though he was born in Hawaii to at least 1 US citizen, he deserves all the shit donnald can shovel at him on this one
Repost what I said in the Iowa caucus thread: It's stupid to claim a person born abroad from American parents is not an American. Atlantis is your true calling, and its denizens will bow and call you "King." At least until you are sued for being a secret Canadian.

Doesn't matter if your parents were born in Nigeria or North Korea, if you've spent the majority of your life in your chosen country and adopted its basic values you should be equal to anyone else born there.
