• Could this be colon cancer?

I'm 17 and I rarely work out, yet I'm not like really fat or anything of the sort and I drink about two bottles of water or roughly 40 oz of water a day and my diet is of a vast variety. My family is known for alcoholism and most of them have smoked (most of them quit by now or have died) and my dad's family has a history of diabetes which I am at risk of having, but don't as of yet. It's important to know that I don't smoke or drink either. Anyways, the past month or so I've been noticing bright red blood whenever I wipe after using the restroom, it's become more apparent within the last week or so. I have found that I'm not passing BM's as easily as I usually do and they're coming out not as ... potent? I don't really have any pains or anything since this started, but from what it sounds like it would seem that I have local colon cancer. I have a few questions for anyone who can answer them- -(Probably the biggest) Could this be colon cancer? -Should I change my diet? I read that it is easy to cure in it's early stages, is it exercise involved? -Is this just something temporary? -How deadly is colon cancer? I googled it today just out of curiosity, I'm really hoping this isn't the case, and I hope that if it is- I can work to cure it immediately. Sorry if you find this gross, but it's a real issue. Also, my story sounds a lot like this kids minus the exercise and the pains. I don't have any noticeable blood in my stool though, but there are traces of it. Post it in GD, you'll get more attention/answers
Post it in GD, you'll get more attention/answers
Will do, thank you.
Colon cancer, i very much doubt. Diet, yes. Chances are this is caused by a deficiency in a lack greens (vegetables basically) eat more. If it is from lack of veg then yes it would just be temporary. No idea how deadly it is. The traces are likely from just the little bits your finding being pushed out and landing in the toilet along with your excretion. However, you would be better off seeking a doctors advice and inevitably he/she will need to see you're rear end. As they have the experience necessary to refer you to a hospital or not.
no, if you were bleeding internally it would be coming out in your poo as black and tarry stuff. bright red blood is indicative of the bleeding being outside, or just inside your anus - most likely caused by hemorrhoids, but that's an easily treatable problem.
God dammit, I really don't want a colonoscopy or anything, I'll change my diet and stop eating crap and get off the sodas and see how it goes in the next two months, that should be enough time to change my habits and possibly my health and body. I'll consult my mom when she gets home from work, she's a labor and delivery (baby birthin') nurse.
I think if you are going to leave it 2 months, and all you've been having is junk and fizzy, then see a doctor now because in 2 months it would get a lot more serious.

I'm sure they have ointments and medicines that can clear that up.
It doesn't matter what you think it is, when you start bleeding out your anus for reasons other than being a little rough when wiping it's time to see a doctor.
yeah, whilst it is true that i am no doctor, i honestly don't think you have any reason to be concerned about having colon cancer.
