Well he isn't lying, it's just a forced way of conception
It's kinda fucked up how he just trivializes it, like it's just a harmless issue.
the GOP: where things that are technically true meet horrendous moral implications!
Well the Onion wasn't too far off then
Even man on man rape?
I feel like american politics is a massive satire sometimes.
How do republican members get from
"I'm pro life to"
"Everyone should be pro life"
Leave it up to the parents. What the hell.
Genocide: It's just killing a couple of people.
Destroying a house: It's just breaking a window.
Grand theft auto: It's just borrowing a car.
Burning books: It's just starting a fire.

I see this sentiment a lot but it's actually a case where I can see the reasoning from the GOP's perspective. In their view, abortion is murder plain and simple. No one would say "Some people are pro-murder, but it's none of my business what they think, they should be able to choose."
A pro-lifer wants to ban abortion completely because they see it as saving the lives of a lot of people.
If you take it as true that abortion is murder, then they're in the right by trying to ban it. They're not monsters, just mistaken.
(this is assuming an ideal world where the hypothetical pro-lifer doesn't have any ulterior motives such as not liking how women have control over their bodies)
If Mitt Romney wins, I might just go to the US and rape anyone (with a condom). I mean, by republican law, I'm not raping actually.
They're just digging a deeper hole the more they talk about this stuff.
Hey, at least he's consistent. And if you watch to the end he states that him and Romney plan to make exceptions for rape victims, so that's alright.
I don't agree with them, but they're perfectly in the right to express their opinion on the matter.

This. If I was him, I'd just not talk about this subject anymore.

This assumes women won't seek out abortion if it's outlawed.
Eh, snip.
he said that exceptions for rape and incest is a vast improvement of where we are right now
i wonder if we can boot him out of his old job also so at the end of it he will hopefully not have anything

It's more like "America is a free country, so I'm free to tell you what you can and can't do".
If Mitt Romney wins, I might just go to the US and rape anyone (with a condom). I mean, by republican law, I'm not raping actually.
no even by the monumentally stupid standards of the GOP they're not saying "rape isn't rape"
he said that exceptions for rape and incest is a vast improvement of where we are right now
"Where we are now" is abortion being legal.
So, yeah, he's still a jackass.
It's so funny how you can change people's point of view just by sounding convincing..
"Where we are now" is abortion being legal.

oh i hate the guy, but the title makes me think he said rape is perfectly ok
It's just crazy how easily you can turn what seems like an undeniable statement into a horrible thing to say.
oh i hate the guy, but the title makes me think he said rape is perfectly ok
he is trivializing rape
[editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
rape is far far more than just another method of conception.
This is what yo get when you try to apply modern issues to an over 200 years old constitution.
"Hey honey? I wanna spice things up tonight. Are you okay with rape?"
"Hey honey? I wanna spice things up tonight. Are you okay with rape?"
"No, not really..."
"That's the spirit!"
[editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
That was a horrible joke and rape is not funny
Is it really that hard for Republicans to just not talk about rape? Seriously it's fucking insane every time they talk about it. Just shut up already.
This assumes women won't seek out abortion if it's outlawed.
I believe there would at the least be a reduced number of abortions in the event of outlaw.
