Tourists from around Japan have been flocking to a tiny fishing community, to see what has been nicknamed Cat Island.
The 22 humans who live on Aoshima, off Ehime prefecture, are greatly outnumbered by a population over of 120 cats.
Unless you're allergic to cats. Then it sounds like death.
an island with no rodents
Imagine the stink of cat piss everywhere and fur balls.
A cat island and a posion gas rabbit island? Man, Japan has it all.

The island itself is probably a giant furball.
It started with 2 and then this shit happened.
Ready the magma!
Isn't there a bunny island too?

There's also a town full of deer and a forest packed with giant hornets.
I don't know why you'd want to check any of these location when you can see the giant hornets.

I know I will regret this later - But do show me this island of Giant Hornets.
I like cats so much and I hate being allergic to them.
I was expecting this to be about Iriomote and the critically endangered Iriomote cat.
I know people with a lot of outdoor cats that just kinda hang around their house and those things get ratty and mangy and disgusting so fast without proper medical care. I'd actually be disgusted to go to this island.
While this is cool and all it's also bad seeing as propably none of the cats are castrated there could be alot of inbreeding which is pure and simple animal abuse. I
just don't think it's a rather nice thing to do to all the cats, especially seeing as a vast majority of the worlds cats live in awful conditions.
an island full of assholes
it's new zealand all over again
or island full of pussies, either way
wild cats are just nasty, it'd actually probably be pretty stinky
I own 2 cats and they're perfectly clean and healthy and cuddly and happy
but not outdoor cats, they're all greasy and nasty
This one of those reusable stories they publish every year just like "life returning to chernobyl" or "children fascinated by dinosaurs" or "Voyager has left the solar system"

Ladies and Gentlemen, a polite post from an oversized prison island.
land of pussy
I remember that the locals actually had a lot of problems with cats over the years.
Like there are cats that aren't taken care of properly and cats that got treated badly by tourists and stuff.

The video states that a few cats have been neutered to attempt to control the population. Also, I'm not sure how this is animal abuse if the cat population just simply went haywire without the need of humans to do so.
I'd like to see what a sack of catnip would do to that island.
Because introducing a bunch of cats within a safe environment with no predators and free food worked out so well in Disneyland :v:
Why not the rabbit island ?
I like cats on photos, but I hate them irl or to own one, they are just un-loyal cunts.
Also must suck for pigeons and seagulls to land on island.

They don't.
Genetics have taught them that's cat country.
I'd like to have a concession stand on that island, I'd sell whisker biscuits to the tourists.
I wonder how often the cats kill each other.
