It's unfortunate. Most people seem to have a forte, and I... don't.
I'm mediocre at maths and that sort of thing even after studying it intensely, and I'm no good at art either (though I suspect this is because art is something that requires a lot of practice, and not involuntary skill)
I'm genuinely worried about what I'm going to end up doing for a living, as everything above flipping burgers involves high-level math or some serious skill in art.
Would you offer some guidance, Facepunch Studios?
Take each day as it comes
Never use the hairdryer in the bath.
I would, if I felt like years of art/maths experience were going to drop into my brain. ;(

It's all up to you. If you believe in the notion that you're just going to find something you're naturally good at, you're likely to find yourself going nowhere in your life. All of the greats in any field put a ton of work to get where they are.

Try something different. Or try harder.
I know, I'm just not so sure what to put a ton of work into

What do you enjoy?
Nothing that will land me a well-paying job, I expect, so that's a dead end
Well paying jobs don't involve arts degrees, so abandon that one.
You're in highschool (im assuming)
You don't know what you want to do yet. Stop worrying..
I never thought id be getting into the world of networking when i was in highschool
Not sure when I said I was striving for an art degree...?

Can I just ask... how old are you? You may not yet have had time to get better at stuff.
You mentioned art, and you said you wanted to do something that lands you a good job, so I put two and two together.

Yeah, but that makes it more important. I'm supposed to be finding what I'll specialize in and I have no idea.
Clean the dust out of your computer case with a vacuum cleaner.

Sixteen
And you're probably not old enough to be worrying about this kind of shit, so don't.
The reason I mention being naturally bad at math is because I used to spend almost all of my free time studying it because I wanted to do something in engineering but I'm still bad at it
Which sucks pretty hard
Sixteen
Don't worry man, seriously don't. You have so much time to figure out what you want to do.

What exactly do you have problems with?

It's not so much one area as it is the entire field; I thought I could get better at math with lots of practice, but I really just can not understand some concepts well even with tons of practice.
Just do what I plan on doing: Dead end job, kill self in strip club age 39.
And I don't want to do some shitty uninspired field like cooking which feels like what I'll get stuck doing for the rest of my life

What's fucking uninspired about cooking?
When I think of uninspired I definitely don't think of cooking.
Practice. Instead of waiting to be naturally gifted at something, work for it.
For example, you're on the computer right now. You enjoy it. Learn how the work, or learn how to program, learn something! You've got an interest, it's time to turn it into a career.
It's just that I've never heard anyone say their calling is cooking (including professional chefs). Just an example. Not to say some people don't really strive to be cooks.
Go to college. It may take a few years but you should find out what you want to do with you're life.

There's a lot of culinary schools here in Florida (USA). You hear about them a lot in the public schooling system here.
I'm terrible at everything I try and do. Art, music, photography, programming, comedy, games. You name it, I've tried and horribly failed at it. Luckily for me being a useless fuck was one of the essential requirements needed to be considered management material for the council, so things have worked out fine for me :hfive:
You'd be respected if you can even get a job at McDonalds at such a shitty time we're living in.
