Do you believe in that invisible man called The Almighty God?

Well, I obviously don't. The thought of a god, a higher being than us ''the mortals'' is a ridiculous idea.
How can an adult say to a child with a straight face ''You'll go to hell, if you don't believe in god.'' and actually mean it?
This buggers me beyond imagination, how can a person believe in something like that? I do think that religions are the most useless and pointless of all the things in this world.
And yes, this is a semi-rant. :smug:
I believe in no religion, nor am I an atheist. (basically yes, but I don't consider myself as one)
Facepunch, what's your opinion?
And yes, this is this thread again.
Hello, dear facepuncher. Do notice, that this thread is over 1 year old. I've no intetions of deleting the content I've written, but just to notify you that I've grown since that time, when this thread was made. Thank you! (Not that I can make the done undone. I'm also very embarassed by my ignorance.)
I do.
No but it does make me rage that millions of people believe in something that doesn't exist nor show any proof of existence. And they rationalize as much as possible to keep believing in the faith they were born into. So hard for religious people to accept the truth. No god. Get over it. I was Christian once now I became free from hell.
So many Christians crash and explode in arguments. Went from GOD IS UP THERE to *silence*. Because they know they are wrong. SORRY IF YOUR MAD AT ME. LOL
No, I don't. But people who act all smug and like they're the "enlightened" because they believe a certain thing, piss me off.
I don't believe in god, personally.
This thread will turn out bad.
BECAUSE ONLY GOD CARES ABOUT ARE UGLY FAT CHRISTIAN HOUSE WIFES WHO "PREECH" EVERYDAY TO THE "LORD". Alot of African children converting over to Christianity hoping that god will help their hunger problem. They died.

Bad thread idea OP.

There is no hard proof either way. Let people believe what they want as long as they don't shove it in your face.
There is another thread and no.
This thread is a massive argument waiting to happen
Yep, just my way to cope with things.
Each to their own, okay?
I don't, but I don't rage over people believing differently. People are different, whether it's how they look, how they think, or what they believe. That's just how it works.

There is also no hard proof that a master race of rainbow unicorns that use urethral vibrators as a means of controlling the human race doesn't exist.
jesus would you people stop posting these threads
I believe in santa claus
I believe that people should stop making this exact same thread every month and a half.
I do understand that people want to believe in their imaginary invisible men with beards, but why? Why do you believe in such a weird story? It buggers me so much, how do you have that childish imaginary? Please try to explain.
Imagine it as a childrends book, there's a man made out of wood, when he lies he's nose grows, but if you don't believe in him, you'll go to the place where all the evil rock men are, and they will torture you forever!
I hope you get my point.
Well, I obviously don't.
Well, your thread title obviously tells us that.

If someone wants to believe that let them, it has nothing to do with you.
If you want I can address your post, but superiority-complex-ridden teens like you are a dime a dozen, and I'd be wasting my energy. But so far all you've done is parroted the opinions of 60% of FP with literally no insightful input.

So, people believe in god, or something like that, to be able to accept death? or then they are just afraid to die.

Alright, it begins.
Let's look at your OP. You set the tone as an ignorant athiest who refuses to look at things objectively not once, but multiple times in the title alone. "Invisible man" is a common device used by athiests in an attempt to belittle people of faith, primarily abhrahamic religions, and "The Almighty God", especially used in succession of your asinine, below-the-belt comment (that has no place in a discussion like this by the way), is just insult to injury. Keep in mind I'm an athiest and I do not like the concept of a monotheism, especially an abrahamic one, but this is just stupid.
Now the body of your post. "I obviously don't". Well thanks, "Mega enlightened athiest", we needed to know that. That really adds to the discussion and doesn't provoke religious users at all! You're so mature, goading people. Next, "a ridiculous idea". Well, thanks for your second piece of opinionated, worthless opinion, you just made three words that serve only to annoy others.
The rest is just trash dealing with Old Testament, ironically your viewpoint on religion is just as old.
I'm fine with people disliking religion, but an allegory for what you just did here is rent a house in the city, put up a sign saying "Believers in god enter" and started a fucking tirade for no reason.
Also, fucking amazing, you call this thread "Finding out"? You're a cunt.
I don't beleive in god, i beleive in the theories that he teaches
Yes yes, they can believe what ever the chicken cock they want, but why do they believe in god? This is what buggers me.

Well as for me picking Christianity, it just feels more believable to me. I know a lot of people here would beg to differ but personally I just find it more likely among other reasons.
As for being scared of death, no, I am more scared of a lack of purpose.
Guess what, corporal my-beliefs-in-your-face, if you wrote the OP with a less challenging tone nobody would have an issue with it.
