I'm about to start watching the pilot (first episode) of the first season of that. Is it any good? I really love Jurassic Park, and it was created by the same guy who created Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton) so I imagine it should be good. Discuss.
Well. It didn't run for 15 years, Getting 375 award nominations, 124 of those Emmy nominations and winning 23 because it was shit.

I never watched it, but my mom did. And I mean she watched it. Like fucking religiously. Genuinely offended if you said anything even remotely bad about the show. I can even remember when that one guy had a brain tumor. One of the main characters. Tried to get out of bed and fell down because of the tumor. Hits the floor and shouts "SHIT!." My mom and dad looked at each other like "Oh god, did he just say that?" Was back when it was still a taboo word.
I always saw it on the channel listing. But never watched it, not my thing.
Picture Scrubs with more drama and less funny, and they changed the cast successfully like 8 times.

Oh yes the series which made George Clooney a bit more famous and gave him generally a good start in entertainment industry
Occasionally watched it. It's mainly about the characters so don't expect medical mysteries.

His books have sold over 150 million copies worldwide, and many have been adapted into films. In 1994, Crichton became the only creative artist ever to have works simultaneously charting at #1 in television, film, and book sales (with ER, Jurassic Park, and Disclosure, respectively)
I surprisingly like the show, it's really good and hasn't aged all that bad for being 17 years old. And it has the best opening TV theme ever:
ER is a soap opera, but a damn good one(in it's prime years that is). I'd suggest watching it from the start, then just go with it till you start to notice that it starts to feel less real and more gimmicky. That's when you know it's time to stop.

For the record, Crichton wrote JP, he did not make the movie, which is rather different from the film. I remember when I was little, I saw the beginning of one episode where a guy gets his arm torn off due to something dealing with a helicopter. Scared me shitless.
That opening theme scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. It didn't help that my dad watched it constantly.
The only person I remember is Dr. Prat because of his name, and an episode where someone, I think him, got in a car accident and lost their legs.
I remember I used to watch this a lot when I was younger and had to stay at my grandma's house after school where they only got basic cable. From what I remember it was a good show.
