Fallout 4 gives me such a disconnect. The game forces you to be a nice-ish family man that cares more about rescuing your son than anything else, and then every new dlc that comes out gives you new ways to be a horrible person.

They also gave you the option in Far Harbor [sp]To say that you are actually a synth with forged Pre-War memories.[/sp]
what if it's the story about the average joes descent into madness
It kinda bothers me a bit when people bring up characters acting violent when they were once normal people. Typically the people are put in to extreme circumstances where the violence is tremendous and frequent, basically making it a necessity to survive. In Fallout 4 in particular, the world is steeped in extreme and bizarre violence when the player arrives, but the player also isn't exactly new to violence themselves. At least in the case of the male character, we know for a fact they were a soldier, and if I remember correctly, the female character is indicated to have had military experience herself. She certainly would have needed it to use powered armor. And like Mad Max, where the circumstances of Max's world and the violence in it lead to him becoming the ruthless and violent character he is known to be, the same can be said of the player characters in the Fallout world.
stupid fucking nice guy dad who just wants to see his son safe again really ruins the control they are giving me. because no matter what, I'm still going to end up as him, because this DLC has no connection to the base game. It's fun, really fun, great even, but it's just weird to be connected to a game like Fallout 4 where roleplaying is so disparaged.
About as seriously as Fallout 4's writers took their jobs, actually
Which is why they are usually the best options to pick, to convey how i usually feel about said dialouge

And here I was hoping that Nuka-World would've been a derelict theme park restored to a semi-working state so the rides would work again. Like a small group of people trying to take other people's minds off the gloomy shithole of the wasteland.
I want a Fallout where I can choose to play as a ghoul or super mutant (not the retarded bethesda super mutants)
They also gave you the option in Far Harbor [sp]To say that you are actually a synth with forged Pre-War memories.[/sp]
Does that actually effect anything, or is it just for role playing?
Watch this just be Minutemen in reverse with the you as the """"leader""" of a raider group and your faithful co-leader-man, Pres Gravy, will tell you that all your boys found a settlement that needs to be taken over for the raider cause! In addition, you gotta defend your raider camps with Pres Gravy telling you that "Another camp needs our help! I'll mark it on your map!"
I'm sure there is a 0% chance that your raider 'allies' will at a point late in feel you've outlived your usefulness and betray you. No, highly unlikely for THAT to happen.
Does that actually effect anything, or is it just for role playing?
doesn`t affect anything from what i gather
Can't you do this in fallout 1?
Can't you do this in fallout 1?
There's no option to join a raider gang in Fallout 1, as far as I know. I actually don't think you can join raiders in any of them, unless I'm forgetting something in one of the games I've played less like Fallout 2
I'm pretty sure you can join the kahns
hope there's some inset lore that allows me to do this shit after being the savior hero. Yeah I saved the day. And now I'm going to peacefully liberate the Commonwealth. Forcefully peacefully.
probably something along the lines how raiders under you`re command are not like the other raiders and don`t brutally rape random folks and follow some unspoken outlaw honor rules and shit(just kidding but i`m going to shit myself if it turns out to be something like that). or the sole survivor lives a double life only raiding and pillaging in nuka world while being a warm, soft-hearted minutemen general in the commonwealth.
All the main factions in the base game are assholes, at least the raiders admit it I'd much rather be king of the partying drugheads than "general of the minutemen" AKA Preston's bitch
I'm pretty sure you can join the kahns
You're probably thinking of Fallout 2 where you can join a band of slavers and go on slave-catching runs, which also absolutely kills your reputation with other communities.
