If you're looking for a complex spectacle fighter or character action or whatever the term is these days, you won't find it here. The combat system is extremely simplistic, it's practically impossible to fail.
However, this game has good design and plot going for it, even though it's short and there's not much to do.

It was on such a crazy sale for pre-purchase. It's not like it got much lower. Anyways, re-releasing a fairly solid pc port for 1/3rd the cost of the original on consoles... I think they deserve the money. I really want to see more SUDA51 games coming to PC.
I mean, what other game can you literally seduce sexy women by oogling over their bodies when they're not looking (optional see-through glasses) and unlock tons of sexy underwea--- Okay, I think I've made my point. I love my fan-service in games, and this is the first one to do it very well by not making it forced, while also maintaining a very serious, mysterious story where the player is the one putting all the pieces together. I absolutely love the game, though the combat has much room for improvement.
Is this playable with a KB+M or is a controller pretty much essential? My controller is fucked at the moment.
actually the fanservice was forced by the publishers part, suda wanted it to be more subtle and kinda comedic and not just tits and shit
also dunno heard the pc port isn't great, havent played it but a lot of steam forums guys saying it wont play past episode 3 and shit like that
It's been working fine, it just really has to be tinkered with in the .ini to get a proper framerate.
You have to change what time the qte prompts come up if you increase the framerate in the ini.

Works surprisingly well

Really? That's not the impression I really get when I look at Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes (the only other SUDA51 games I've played). Also it was comedic and subtle in my opinion, as I don't recall any real forced fan-service during the actual missions (not counting the phone calls). Those side-missions were really their own thing, and you had to go out of your way to do them, so I think it was a perfect way to reward players who wanted it while not distracting the ones who didn't care for the material. I would love for more games to take this exact approach, rather than playing a serious story to suddenly have a boss in a skimpy outfit made to show cleavage on unnaturally large breasts.
edit: I forgot you need to do the seduction missions once for each girl to unlock the sub-weapons. That's forced.
Also, if anybody here just bought this game, don't upgrade your dash to level max (keep it at one below!) if you plan on dashing between enemies while staying mobile. At level 3, it adds a roll (which adds a delay before you can dash again). The roll really doesn't help and it makes combat harder because rolls don't count as dodges (which are vital) as well as being vulnerable while your character is in the animation.
Played KID on the PS3 when it came out. The gameplay is solid but it feels like Suda's "weird shit" was reigned in too hard in some places and too forced in others. Not as good as No More Heroes but worth a look at this price, at least.
Be aware though, NMH 1 and 2 had really rocky bits that were saved by the game's charm and sense of humor, and neither of those are as strong in KiD which makes the rocky bits even rockier.
