I believe the idea for this thread came to me while driving past a pasture. Now given the the thread title, you can probably take a good guess as to what was grazing in that pasture. No, not a cow, not a buffalo (or tatonka if you will), but a horse. Yes, in case you don't really know,(I myself am no expert on this matter) Equus is a genus of animals. This genus includes mammals such as horses, donkeys, zebras. Now that we have that out of the way, let's get down to business. While driving across this pasture, I thought, "do horses and donkeys have prejudices between each other?" On top of that "what do horses and donkeys think about their half-breed cousin, the mule? What about zebras? What about social relations between different breeds of horse?" were some other questions that followed shortly after. "Do American Quarter Horses think lowly of the large, but hobbit-like Clydesdales? (hairy feet)" These questions continue to haunt me at times, but not yet to the point where I spend sleepless nights searching for answers. If I do not find an answer soon, perhaps I should fear such a future. Now I wanna know what you think. Could there be a form of racism within the Equus genus? ________________________________ I've already took it upon myself to collect a few opinions on this matter The following people were asked to give their thoughts as to whether there is "racism" within the Equus genus: ~A well-crafted and very thoughtful response from Mr. Tarp
Well I would have to say that the donkeys are most likely jealous of the horses back legs, they are quite muscly and they have a shiny coat whereas donkeys are much like a rag. All in all I imagine horses wouldn't like to be around donkeys and feel like they are on a pedestal because they are regarded as lower beings, much like how it is with white and black people.
~Beardy, speculating that there is indeed "racism," said the following:
we should put them in an arena and see if they fight
I personally doubt the animals would fight at all. I have never seen horses, donkeys, or zebras fight before. Never say never though. ~Mr. Craptasket do you think horses/donkeys/mules/zebras/etc. are racists??? Feel free to elaborate!
I feel as though these godly crafted creatures have no [real] sense of prejudice, but it’s to anyone’s conjecture
Sincere and thoughtful, Mr. Craptasket brings a little more balance to the argument! You guys are great sports! Also thank you to my supporters, the CCoF as well as the Dougpunch Foundation.
Racism between horses and donkeys? Can I buy dope from you?
Only a jackass would choose to be racist.
i say put them in a ring and let them fight
Racism between horses and donkeys? Can I buy dope from you?
I appreciate your opinion, but do not try to derail this young thread into a place for drug discussion. I do not sell drugs either.
Racism between horses and donkeys? Can I buy dope from you?
sorry but this isn't the street corner where you can buy your drugs hippie!!!
sorry but this isn't the street corner where you can buy your drugs hippie!!!
D:
Lets get Daniel Radcliffe to come, then they'll be forced to overcome their differences and fight against his wang together.
the hell is with the GIFs bro
Stupid neighers.
Only a jackass would choose to be racist.
Haha, I see the action you have performed in this specific area.
For some reason I don't think horses have the mental faculty to think positively or negatively about an animal based on how it looks.
For some reason I don't think horses have the mental faculty to think positively or negatively about an animal based on how it looks.
How intelligent must one be to have biases against another species? I'm sure you've seen a really dumb racist!
I thought this thread would have been about bestiality.
I thought this thread would have been about bestiality.
Please don't turn it into one you sicko.
this thread is shit what drugs are you on? for unknown reasons of course
Horses aren't self aware enough to craft ideas of racism. Racism is a vehicle for one race to suppress another race that could be potentially threatening to the status quo.
Fukken Xenos
Animals and all that don't discriminate in ways we do, in fact we created it too be honest. Their world is about survival of the fittest. Usually the best and strongest get to mate.
What about bears?

Having grown up around horses, I can safely say yes, horses are "racist." I owned a horse that tried to kill a donkey before. She went apeshit at the sight of one. Other horses can and will do the same. But also try to remember that Donkeys are not the same species as horses; they look, sound, and smell different from horses. In stead, did you know that horses can be biased towards other horses based on coat color and patterns? Pure white horses are often shunned from a herd of horses, and visa versa with darkly colored horses. Horses have a very odd "buddy" system in the herd, where one horse hangs around mainly with one other horse--this is why it's a bad idea to own an odd number of horses, one will get left out and become depressed. This buddying almost always occurs with horses that have similar coat patterns if there is a choice.
Don't listen to these neighsayers! I totally agree with you!
How intelligent must one be to have biases against another species? I'm sure you've seen a really dumb racist!
The brain still has a base level of operation, that includes advanced faculties like self awareness, problem solving and judgement. Those are kinda of crucial to being a racist, no matter how much of a retarded dumbass he/she is, a Horses brain isn't that advanced. [editline]07:40PM[/editline]
What about bears?
If a grizzly and a brown bear are in the same area. Shit will GO DOWN!!!! But not because of racism, because of territoriality. :science:
For some reason I don't think horses have the mental faculty to think positively or negatively about an animal based on how it looks.
You'd think the same about rednecks yet here we are
Yeah but rednecks run on effectively what is a skeleton system with the very basic human mental abilities. Ask one about algebra or calculus and heres what happens: Brain: "Whao shit that sounds fancy, fancy and scary... scary means evil evil means devil devil means satanism atheists are satanists I still dunno what algebra is though... fuck it" Redneck: "THAT THUR BE WITCH CRAFT AND THE WORK OF THE DEBIL YOU ATHEIST SCUM!" :bahgawd:
Makes sense, there is a lot that we don't know about equine psychology. However, it may be less of racism, and more of genetic control.
Algebra is Math, Math sounds like Meth, both the two are in fact evil when they decide to get it up high. I have in fact seen a horse kill another horse before, because the baby horse it killed could not walk, meaning I don't think they take too kindly to the cripple. I don't think camels or llamas are related to horses, but I have seen horses panic at the site of those guys, when I have seen donkees and horses together, I have not seen that murderous hate crime behavior.
Those are kinda of crucial to being a racist, no matter how much of a retarded dumbass he/she is, a Horses brain isn't that advanced.
What about other species, never mind, maybe not advanced, but I would say until the car got popular, these guys used to be noble to us a lot more. I don't know if I could go back to horse back and not be able to close my pelvis after riding all the time.
It's not racism if they're of different species. Horses would have to be racist to other horses, otherwise it's speciesist (?)
Yeah but rednecks run on effectively what is a skeleton system with the very basic human mental abilities. Fascinating.
