• How do I speed up hibernation on Win7

My Windows 7 laptop takes FOREVER to hibernate, about two to three minutes. I keep searching Google for an answer, but it only gives results how to speed up the resume, which for me is really fast. What I really don't get is that my desktop with Windows 7 takes about 10 seconds to hibernate. What's the difference?
I dont think there is a way unless you want to upgrade.
Your laptop's hard drive is most likely a 5400RPM drive. This means it'll take longer to write the contents of memory to it than your desktop's hard drive which is probably 7200RPM.
How much RAM do you have and how much RAM is being used? The more it has to write, the longer it will take.
Take out some ram :downs:
You could get a 7200rpm laptop drive and some faster ram.
Use sleep mode, battery can easily last days in sleep.
Hibernate just takes a while. Thats how it is. It has to write everything in memory to disk. Which is super slow unless you have an SSD. Use sleep mode for instant on and such.
