I'm very confused, I have a mac book pro 15" with a 320 gb HD. Last night I had 27 GB free, and now it says I have zero space left I deleted my 6.5 GB windows partition, and now it says I have 1.10 GB free. Does anyone know what might be behind this?
I verified both my drives and They both passed SMART tests.
Maybe you downloaded something? :v:
no, I had transmission closed and nothing else was downloading, not to mention I don't have much that large. I tried to back some files up on my external hard drive and they would complete transferring.
EDIT:
My free space has shrunk even more since before.
Did you check your downloads folder? I know I have a lot of shit in mine..
Get Disk Inventory X (Universal build is at http://www.derlien.com/dixforum/viewtopic.php?t=62). It shows you visually where all your files are and where the biggest ones are, so you can see what is eating the space.

Try deleting your shadow copies unnecessary items in your hard drive by cleaning it out by disk clean up. Shadow copies contain the stuff your computer uses to download computer updates and that stuff accumulates. If you still have your Windows partition, Go to Start Menu>Computer>Right Click on your harddrive>Click Disk Cleanup> Click on Clean Up System Files>Click on More Options Tab on the top afterwards> Press Delete Shadow Copies> Wait for a moment and press OK. Done. Usually people don't do this and notice it, And when I do it for people I save them about 20GB+ every time. Try this. It could be a part of your problem.
-snip- i may be wrong
