Hello Facepunch, in my Civics and Economics class today my teacher brought up the comparison between Abraham Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy's assassinations. Which I found to be kinda creepy. None-the-less I thought I would share it with you all. I don't believe all this information to be true, but I still find it extremely interesting. (Take note to the asterisks and numbers which are explained at the end of the list.) Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846 Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946 He was elected President in 1860 He was elected President in 1960 (L)His wife lost a child while living in the White House (K)His wife lost a child while living in the White House (L)He was directly concerned with Civil Rights (K)He was directly concerned with Civil Rights Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy who told him not to go to the theater *1 Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln who told him not to go to Dallas *2 Lincoln was shot in the back of the head in the presence of his wife Kennedy was shot in the back of the head in the presence of his wife Lincoln shot in the Ford Theatre Kennedy shot in a Lincoln, made by Ford (L)He was shot on a Friday (K)He was shot on a Friday (L)The assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters (K)The assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was known by three names, comprised of fifteen letters Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and fled to a warehouse *3 Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theater Booth was killed before being brought to trial Oswald was killed before being brought to trial There were theories that Booth was part of a greater conspiracy There were theories that Oswald was part of a greater conspiracy Lincoln's successor was Andrew Johnson, born in 1808 Kennedy's successor was Lyndon Johnson, born in 1908 *1 Note: It is an urban myth that Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy. There is no record of that. *2 Note: There is no record whether or not Kennedy's secretary warned him. *3 Note: Booth actually fled to a farm and was killed in a tobacco barn. It might be a stretch to call it a warehouse. But two years after his death, Booth's body was temporarily moved to a warehouse. Also, after the assassination, the government closed the Ford Theatre and turned it into a warehouse.
I saw something similar in a ripleys believe it or not museum. Bot are very similar.
Taking note of the asterisks, still a good read.
This is posted a lot on Facebook for some reason. Interesting no matter what though. One difference (I think) though is that Kennedy had blue eyes, where as Lincoln had Brown.
but they are different people killed by different people who lived in different times

One had a game and one did not.
I do actually think there is a conspiracy behind JFK, I mean, there is just too much for it to not be. They "lost" his brain, half his autopsy papers burned in a fire, they cleaned out the car with bleach right after he was killed, Oswald was killed before he could testify.
One had a game and one did not.
Correction: One has a LIFE-CHANGING DIGITAL EXPERIENCE and one doesn't.
The Cavalry officer who chased after Booth was a Eunich.
Never seen it with the asterisks before, thanks
Lincoln's concern with civil rights depends on how you define the term. Lincoln believed that it wouldn't be possible for whites and blacks to live equally under the same government, and had no intention of trying to do so. His interest in abolishing slavery while he was still running for president is debatable, while he did repeatedly question the morality of slavery, he never promised to abolish it if he were elected, he only promised to keep it out of the territories. The Emancipation proclamation only guaranteed freedom to slaves in seceded states (in other words, it had no immediate effect on slavery) and is generally thought to have been made in hopes of getting southern slaves to fight for the Union and to keep the European powers from aiding the south. Also major difference: Lincoln was shot point blank, Kennedy was sniped.
If you are going to take every random detail that coincides with another, (saying 1908 is related in a way to 1808), then you must consider everything that doesn't coincide.
Tecumseh's curse much?
The term Curse of Tippecanoe (also known as Tecumseh's curse, the presidential curse, zero-year curse, the twenty-year curse, or the twenty-year presidential jinx) is sometimes used to describe the pattern where from 1840 to 1960 each American President who had won election in a year ending in zero (such as 1880 or 1900) died in office. It was broken by Ronald Reagan, who survived being wounded in a March 1981 shooting, and George W. Bush who finished his two terms. The curse, first widely noted in a Ripley's Believe It or Not book published in 1931,[1] began with the death of William Henry Harrison, who died in 1841 after having been elected in 1840. For the next 120 years, presidents elected during years ending in a zero (occurring every 20 years) ultimately died while serving in office, from Harrison to John F. Kennedy (elected 1960, died 1963). The name "Curse of Tippecanoe" derives from the 1811 battle. As governor of the Indiana Territory, William Harrison bribed Native Americans to cede their lands to the U.S. government and handed out whiskey, causing problems for the Indians. These hostile acts angered the Shawnee chief Tecumseh, and brought government soldiers and Native Americans to the brink of war in a period known as Tecumseh's War. Tecumseh and his brother organized a defensive group of Indian tribes designed to resist white westward expansion. In 1811, Harrison successfully attacked Tecumseh’s village along the Tippecanoe River, earning fame and the nickname "Old Tippecanoe". Harrison strengthened his reputation even more by defeating the British at the Battle of the Thames during the War of 1812. Tecumseh's brother Tenskwatawa, known as the Prophet, supposedly set a curse against Harrison and future White House occupants who became president during years with the same end number as Harrison.[3]
tl;dr: Native American curses presidents - any president who wins election in a year divisible by 20 dies in office. "Broken" after Ronald Reagen.
One had a game and one did not.
kennedy has [sp]nogames[/sp]

'Tis weird, but purely coincidental....
If you are going to take every random detail that coincides with another, (saying 1908 is related in a way to 1808), then you must consider everything that doesn't coincide.
1908 is 100 years after 1808 :geno:
Its silly to expect an intact brain after being shot by a high power rifle
Lincoln didn't take no shit from anyone
what a coincidence they were both shot in the head are they the same person
One had a game and one did not.

I don't understand why cleaning the car with bleach would prove, JFK's head blew up pretty well, i can assume that's what they were cleaning off the seats.
But still, you would think that they would try to get any and all information that they can. At least pictures of the car before they cleaned it.
1908 is 100 years after 1808 :geno:
What is special about 100? Does it sound special when you say 36524.2199 days? And even then, what does it prove? By that logic, you could say that 1918 is also special.

Thomas D'Arcy McGee was the best assassination. but you've probably never heard of him :cardigan:
Saw this in a old email forward 5 years ago.
I love coincidences. Pretty trippy.
Looking forward to 2060.
HISTORY IS CYCLlCAL AND THE FREEMASONS CONTROL THE SPACE NEEDLE but in all honesty, it is actually a pretty extraordinary conicidence, but probably not much beyond that.
