What happened?
How come Mass Effect games improve on combat only, and not the fascinating world and animations?
why bother with believable characters and interesting storytelling if you can focus on having more stuff to shoot,
you know, what that core audience wants
"Core audience" being "Lowest common denominator" and not the actual fanbase.
to be fair, i can get over poor animations. while this level isn't acceptable for this era, it wouldn't hugely impact my experience
but if the combat ages like spoilt milk - such is the case with me1, it's going to be really difficult for me to get into it if i decide to play this in a few years

Tbh I'm playing Mass Effect 1 for the first time as we speak and the combat isn't that bad.
People hold Mass Effect 1 in the highest regard when it comes to the Mass Effect series, but if they're looking solely at combat, it's most definitely not the best, it's the worst, it's decent at best but it's really shit and annoying and almost completely takes the fun out of it.

I would say ME2 had the worst combat. It's incredibly dull and has very little variety. If you were unlucky enough to pick the soldier you get just two abilities and a bunch of ammo skills. You got all the weapons but it's not like they were that fun to use and none of them had any special skills for them.
I'll continue to find it funny when I was told that a dev got death threats over adjusting a sniper rifle in CoD: WoW
everything after hearing that was just pathetic, this included.
