Games freeze after ~ 10 min, but not whole computer

So since about last week after roughly 10 minutes of gameplay, in games like TF2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive, the game would freeze. The audio would loop and obviously the game stopped at whatever frame it was on. It doesn't freeze my whole computer though, just the game. I can ctrl+alt+del, though that doesn't help anything. The game is still running, even if I end task. I do eventually have to restart my computer to get everything back to normal.
At first I assumed it was only source games, and something obscure was happening. But the same thing happened when I tried playing Tribes.
It doesn't happen if I play Binding of Isaac, I'm guessing because the game isn't as demanding.
My first thought was that it's overheating, but if that was the case, wouldn't the computer lock up? Not let me ctrl+alt+del?
And now the important stuff:

Are your drivers up to date, if they are try reinstalling them anyway, they could be corrupted. Also make sure you have the latest service pack/windows updates and run the directx web setup http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
I would suggest checking event viewer and seeing if any errors pop up during use of your computer.
Man, I dunno.
I ran prime 95 for ~20 mins and it was fine. Even if it wasn't for very long, I know my games aren't getting even close to 90% CPU usage.
