People's views of Russia have strongly deteriorated since last year, according to the latest 24-country poll for the BBC World Service.
The poll, which was mostly conducted before the crisis in Crimea, showed people were more negative about Russia in the past year than they had been at any time since the poll began in 2005.
It also found that views of the US and the EU had worsened.
But Germany has kept its position as the most positively viewed country.
Iran and North Korea attracted the most negative ratings.
The Country Ratings Poll of 24 nations was conducted by GlobeScan/Pipa.
Last year's results, frustratingly presented in a different format:

Bad media reporting/propaganda and just overall ignorance towards the country.

Americans vehemently despise Iran while they treat NK like a hilarious joke because "Haha Un is incompetent and fat!!!"
The EU is a pretty cool country I guess
I wonder where Ireland would fall, I've always heard that globally speaking they're a pretty popular country.
I like how the U.S and China are so close in opinion.
cant wait for canada to overtake germany to mark the beginning of our global takeover
Here's the full report with more info on methodology, results, and more cool charts and maps

You'd think Iran's popularity would go up after Ahmadinejad lost; they have been increasingly more open to western influence - or at least diplomacy with western countries, especially due to Khamenei.
Only 20% of Chinese people think North Korea has a positive influence on the world. But Ghana fucking loves them for some reason (57%)

Ghana seems to approve of just about everyone.
The only people who really like Russia are Russians. Chinese are second
Excuse me? Why is Germany more popular than Canada?
Jokes aside though, really why is Germany so popular?
Oh god, Israel is the most self-loathing country. Just 40% of Israelis approve of Israel
Incidentally, the US is the only Western country with a positive view of Israel. Europe, Canada, and Australia all have an overwhelmingly negative view

Literally carrying the entire EU on its shoulders.
My final observation: China is the most mirrorwanking country with 85% of Chinese thinking China is cool
Why so much negativity over South Korea?
Why so much negativity over South Korea?
What the fuck, the answer is the exact opposite of what you'd expect.
It's Europe.
European countries are more negative about South Korea than China is, by a wide margin.

Speaking of that, Germany really fucking hates China, the highest negative views and 2nd lowest positive; with Japan having the lowest positive and 2nd negative. I guess Germany still has Japan's back even today.

They don't have the comic relief the DPRK does.
At least Canada is the least disliked. I blame most 13% of the dislike on Harper and Quebec.

Shh, you'll ruin the plan if you tell them. What next, you going to tell them about the ICBM we hid in the CN Towe... I mean about the beavers! Yeah, the beavers! Our army of beavers...
Exactly what Mecha Hitler planned, win their hearts, then take their jews.

Don't worry, we already have the U.S. missile launch system stored in the tower.
I learned about it in that Michael Moore documentary, Canadian Bacon.
I blame Rammstein.
