Jesus just admit it's a fucking moneygrab already. There's nothing industry breaking innovative in this game.
“Are we going to sequel it? Probably not,” laughed Gibeau.
THANK GOD FOR THAT
I'm sorry, innovation is the exact opposite of what you did. It was not about not "being ready for it" either, that implies you made a change for the better.
Not being in tune with what the brand would have allowed us to do is more right, not because of the concept of making it a mobile game, Dungeon Overlord proved that it is fully possible to keep a lot of the ideas of Dungeon Keeper and still adapt it to the playstyle of typical Facebook and Mobile games. The problem was clearly that you made the game into something it wasn't, you made it into a tower defense with digging to place towers and pay/timewalls fucking everywhere.
It seems like he gets it, yet doesn't get it at all.
Are you fucking serious? After Ubi's "lol erryone loves pre-order dlc its gr8" and now this? Are the companies this far removed from their consumerbase?
"Innovated" is a strange way to say "Screwed up by the numbers"
Obviously he thinks games where you pay per move unless you want to wait a day between moves were going to be HUGE if he thinks the world "wasn't ready for it yet". Sadly, with the number of people trying to get into gaming, but "have lives" and can't devote time to actually play a game, he might be right......
Oh this is fantastically stupid.
There's a difference between "we're innovative because we're making new, fresh, and interesting ideas that our consumers will love," and, "we're innovative because we're making amazingly blatant ways to make money."
Face it. They don't care about their products. They only "care" because they need it to make money. As far as they're concerned, all a product needs to do is make money.
Are the companies this far removed from their consumerbase?
yes.
From an absolutely technical standpoint, they did indeed innovate the Dungeon Keeper IP. By the dictionary definition. So it's not exactly a lie. But that doesn't make the changes not a slap in the face to fans of the original games.
EA plz stop talking I can only handle so much bullshit
Like I try not to get too hyperboloidal - emphasis on 'try' - but that's what it felt like. Very similar to what happened to the second Evil Genius game, except worse by leagues.
*sneeze*

God damn you EA, you confused the word "innovation" with "greed", you developed a previous great game, and with your black as hell heart, and your mind filled with ignorance, greed, and stupidity, you ruined the heart and soul of it all, you wanted profit, massive amounts of profit, and by your wicked heart and your fucked up mind, you turn what was once great into ruin by adding things to rip-off customers with your atrocious microtransaction, you filled the game with broken features, you tend to display games that looks all great and shiny but in the inside is the demon of yourself, waiting for a bait and switch...
This is why I boycott you and after seeing how your repeating events of simcity 2013 into sims 4, and how you refused to fix battlefield 4 and releasing a game that look like a straight up mod, and how you ruin great franchises... your in my ban list... almost to the point of eternity. I will celebrate when the day that your miserable company no longer exist and your agents of evil are homeless and sick.

EA didn't develop Dungeon Keeper, they just published it.
Dungeon Keeper Mobile is developed by a EA-created developer team however.
Also EA used to be a good company back then, when the internet was new and games were exclusively bought in stores.
They sure did innovate being money-grubbing dickheads to new levels.
