"You 18?" "ye" "K" And nothing of value was added.
"Are you 18" "Yes" "...Are you sure you're 18?" "...Yes."
Please provide all of the following: birth certificate, drivers license, account number & sort code, scanned passport, military ID card (if any), future death certificate (if any) Thank you for accessing Disney.com
This birth date crap is just a complete waste of time and effort for everyone. I'm 19 and I still don't bother to put my real birth date into websites since why bother when I could just quickly pick 1/1/1901?
That mandatory porn filter seems to be working great huh :v:
How could any grown and educated person sit at a table and say that this is actually a feasible idea and a good use of money. What an absolute waste of money and the time of every person involved.
Stupid old people who have no idea how the internet works is the problem.
i remember when they considered requiring a credit card to access these sites. this government is so dumb
porn sites would probably stop allowing access from uk rather then follow the rules, causing people to use shit vpns.
people will always find workarounds for this need a credit card? use your mom's when she isn't home/use google images to find it/have someone who has a credit card send the images/videos to you need to pay for access? good luck with all the petitions to appeal that outright censorship? same as above, and good luck combating encoded downloadable porn jpegs
Yeah, I dunno, it's such an awkward topic. All the age verification shit we have now doesn't work and all the age verification shit that gets proposed nobody wants to deal with. But at the same time, it's one of those things where it's really hard to argue against, because think of the children.

"My child might stumble across porn!" Well if they do find porn they were probably looking for it, and if they did somehow manage to find porn by accident you clearly didn't bother to set up content filters.

I've been browsing the internet on my own since I was like 5. Hell, I've been on FP since I was like 9, I've definitely seen some shit, and I'm not that fucked up. At least, I don't think. :v:

But you gotta admit, the day you turned 18 and you could actually put in your legitimate birth date and pass through was a grand day.
This has just made me realise, when i was a kid, adult websites actually did ask you how old you were. I guess they realised it was futile and stopped caring
